Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

Hmmmm...

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO NEEDED
During the period my mom was in the hospital, my business faced a very serious setback, because my expenses was bigger than my income then.
so I applied for so many loans, which affected me badly and after the funeral, I was unable to run the business again, so I had to stop market because of the pressure.

I ran to my Dad, begged him to help me talk to the people that i am owing, he asked me to write down all the name, phone numbers and the amount, in which I did. he called them, met with them one by one, and begged them to give time to pay . he also informed them that he cant pay them daily or weekly which I sign for , because he is a monthly earner.

One man among borrowed me 100k to pay back 120k within the duration of 5 months. that is to pay 1200 everyday. with the condition that if I fail to pay before the five months, additional 4k will be added to the interest every month.
I accepted the terms and condition and before I stopped market I had paid him 55k remaining 65k.
My dad also confirmed from him the remaining balance to pay him. I.e the 65k balance,
My dad was able to pay him 50k not once, like 3 times. my dad begged him to give him some time to settle others. he refused, so any time he sees my guarantor, he will seize her goods, and disgrace her.
My dad had to invite him and my guarantor to our house to beg him.

He didn't allow my father to say anything, he started insulting me and my dad calling us names and even shouting for neighbours to hear...
The next thing this man said was that he is not collecting the 15k balance again, that what he will take now is 38k. Wel begged him he to collect the 15k he refused to take it and my dad got angry and asked him to do an thing he wants to do....
I don't want any problems, he didn't do me any bad things, he actually helped me that moment.
Please what should I do please? How do i handle this....

Please continue to beg him and God will touch his heart in Jesus name

    2. Poster, in Nigeria it is illegal to lend money and charge interest unless you have a money lending license from the relevant authority. I learnt this from watching Justice Court. I googled it and it's true.

The people you borrowed money from, are they officially recognized as money lenders by the government? Do they operate with a government-backed license? If they don't, operate with a license, you don't owe them any interest. The law is on your side. Pay them what they lent you without the interest. They have no right to charge you interest.

People perish because of lack of knowledge.

    The person that gives...lends.
He lent you money, he didn't borrow you money!

What advice do you really want us to give you?

Find a job! If you have good luck, try your hand at lottery! Gofundme??

Your chronicle seems like a very strategic way of getting monetary gifts from BVs. It may work...or it may not!

    1. You are a terrible person. You mocked her use of grammar and then implied that the poster is begging for financial assistance. You must be a terrible person.

    3. Binam, even the blog owner is insinuating begging for financial assistance hence the duck side eyes and the comment to beg God to touch the lender’s heart. Secondly, i don’t see where smh mocked her grammar, she used bad grammar and was corrected, pls stop projecting ur thots on ppl.
You called her a terrible terrible person, go back up and read ur own comment, ain’t you terrible? Someone lent the op money in her desperate tyms, they had an agreement which was consensus ad idem, she has defaulted, and instead of u to tell her to pay up or to beg for leniency, u r telling her that she doesn’t owe him, ok oo, if she likes she shouldn’t pay up. Someone’s sweat oo. But when she went to borrow, she didn’t check if he was a licensed money lender. While at it, you forgot to tell her that the if she had borrowed from the licensed money lenders, the interest rate is alwys vry ridiculous and by now that she defaulted, they would have foreclosed whatever security she gave them, may be she would have been homeless by now or in jail.

  8. Transfer the actual balance into his account. clear the 120K first the accrued will be discussed later.

  9. Unfortunately, sentiments aside, you really have no good options here. Your creditor is very much within his rights to recover as he sees fit.

Your resorting to your father to intervene on your behalf was poorly thought out. You want hypertension to kill him too?

Get the civil defence involved. Let them know the repayment plan that will be most convenient for you. They will get the man to sign an agreement with you. After that, the man has no business with you again. He will be going to the Civil Defense to get the money you remit thier weekly.

Next time though, avoid any form of loans.

  11. I think family members should talk about end of life care when they are alive and healthy. I know we all want to give our all for those we love but I would never want to leave those left behind in debt to live just a little bit longer. If shyt looks bad and healing is impossible just pull the bloody cord or inject me with something to move the process along quicker.

It is interesting how so many practical things of life are not discussed ever during the lifetime. If you are 60 years+ your person in charge should know where your important papers are, money in the home is located, your lawyer’s office and whether you want a dnr or you will fight to live if you become incapacitated, if you want cremation or to be buried. It a hard conversation to have but it is necessary. And pray your person in charge doesn’t die before you do.

  16. You should just look for something and sell to pay him off, i will saw you should pay him the 38k he claimed is his balance and hand him over to God. If he lied no need to end it with fight but leave him with God and see if all that money will not go invain.

On a second taught you people did not write down the money, that is where you got it all wrong. Always have a written agreement whenever you lend money from someone. When you pay back any amount you both confirm and sign off, or you keep you bank transactions saved so that days like this you can present it and the case will be settled. Human are truly wicked, sorry over your lost.

  17. Some borrowers are like that when once you default they will change it for you. Just look for little money to pay

    ReplyDelete
  18. The man already warned you that if you don't pay up in the 5 months duration you both agreed on, he will add 4k to each month and you agreed. So I'm thinking he added 4k to each of the 5 months and that makes 20k, added to the remaining 15k makes it 35k. The excess 3k might be adminstrative charges or for extra weeks. So you should try and look for his money and pay him, it is your agreement that he is following. Look for what to sell in your house. God will help you.

Poster sorry about your predicament. Just look for a way to settle the man, agreement is agreement.

Did you default in paying all the 120k in five months? If that was the case, then he has added additional monthly interests like he told you. No case here. Settle him

    1. I hope one day somebody would not come and collect ur items (bush meat and the rest) on credit, and when they default in payment also tell you that you didn’t register ur business wt NAFDAC, therefore u are unfit to sell consumables. U r a business owner and see the wicked advice u r giving sm1. No wonder in life some people toil and toil but no result, with this kind of mindset it means u dnt find it hard to eat people’s sweat.

  26. You can just ignore him
Or tell him to take you to court.
Unfortunately for him, Nigerian law doesn’t allow unlicensed lenders to collect interest
You have paid him the 100k you borrowed and that’s all that a court in Nigeria can make you pay.
