ReplyDeleteAll individual sports are like that. We laud only the winners and title holders act like those who have never stood on the podium and never got a trophy just lack discipline or whatever. Yet, they are also training from 4am, putting pleasures aside, eating a strict diet just like the winners and not giving up. The way we look at sports and the participants need to change. There is something to learn from the person who trained well and showed up year after year to compete even while never winning or medaling, these ppl have a remarkable story to tell of perseverance and mental strength in the midst of repeated defeat.
