The development followed after the joint security operatives laid an ambush at the logistic crossing point of the terrorists along the Yuwe Road, Komala, in Bama LGA in Borno State.
This was disclosed on Friday by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, in a post on his X handle.
Makama said an intelligence source informed him that the troops made contact with the terrorists in the course of the counter-offensive patrol in Yuwe which led to a heavy gun battle.
According to him, the troops successfully defeated the Boko Haram terrorists, while others reportedly fled in disarray, thus abandoning their family properties and ammunition.
He further explained that the rescued members consisted of a Mother, Aisha Usman, with her three daughters: Hauwa, Binta and Amina
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Aisha Usman was forcefully abducted when Boko Haram invaded her home in HANTSA village in Gulak district Madagali LGA of Adamawa State in 2014.
“She was moved to Njimiya camp of the Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest where she was forcefully married to one of the terrorists with three children.
“The rescued family were also taken to the military custody for profiling and further necessary action,”
