I'd like to say 'Happy Workers Day', but what is 'Happy' about the workers day? Fuel is selling at over a thousand per litre in the black markets. If you decide to join the queue in a fuel station that sells at the actual price, you will spend endless hours or even days, and may still end up not getting. Workers are now forced to trek long distances to work, under this scorching sun, because it's either they cant find buses or cabs to get to work, or the fares have tripled and they cant afford it. Meanwhile, minimum wage is still pegged at 30,000 in this ridiculous inflation climate. The take-home pay, can't even take you home. 🥺. There's nothing for the average Nigerian worker to smile about. Is it the price of foodstuff, rent, school fees, light bills, buying of water, transportation etc??

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I need to register for a class to learn how to make thick pap 🙃 😩 😅 😫 😕 🤔 no method that I have not experiment when it comes to making millet pap so that it will be thick without cooking it on the fire after preparing it. I need to become pro on it before I start giving birth cos my children will drink pap enough 😆 🤣
Imagine if I finally find love and I visit his family house for introduction. His mum tells me to make pap for the family, only for pap to fail me or rather disgrace me by not getting thick. I decided to apply second method of cooking it on the fire and his mum🚶♀️ in on me, what will become of me with her approval 😆 🤣 😂 since my mum came around she requested I make pap and flask it for her cos is helping her to sleep well. Every blessed day this pap will disgrace me thereby wasting my time.
Don't even think that during mixing it before adding hot water, that I make it watering. I make it very thick 🤔 pour hot water with one hand and use the second hand to stir it but stop after few stirring, still I don't get it. Kings will think I am not wife material 1b yards because of this. Please help a sister out.

DeleteThe base is what determines how your pap or custard turns out. Your base should be semi-thick not watery.
DeleteThe hot water you are using should boil very well not just lukewarm water.
I have seen some people turn as they pour hot water but I prefer to pour hot water till I notice it has thicken before turning.
Just keep trying, you will get it one of these days 😜

DeleteI think it's from your mixing. Reduce the amount of water you used and allow the hot water to boil before you start using it and be watchful when it's thick to your taste. You get it some day

DeleteWhen you remove your spoon after a few stirs, reduce the quantity of water you're pouring in and watch the pap keenly for when it'll show signs of thickening. That's how it worked for me
After mixing the pap to a thick paste, don't let the hot water be too much , boil it in a pot and pour in the pap while the water is still on the fire and turn it well as you pour the pap. If it is only corn pap, put it down after turning it into a smooth mixture on the fire.
DeleteIf it is millet, guinea corn , let it boil for one or two minutes before putting it down from the fire.
Ever since I started making my pap on the fire inside a pot , no more stories. It even helps kill germs from the maker of the pap if you did not make it yourself, since we can't determine the water used or the hygiene of the maker.
I have screenshot all comments and will try each method day by day to see which will give me a better result. I will give update as times goes on with my progress. Thanks to everyone for your contributions.

This argument also happened in the days of Noah, he was mocked and abused but he stood strong in God, and when the ark was ready and they moved into it, mockery turned to sorrow, tears, wails etc.
Don't be among those that will inherit such faith, hell is real, heaven is real too. Start your day with God and end it with God too, because you don't really know when your time will be up.

You know when you feel like you lost yourself and you're slowly coming back to yourself but this time it's a better version. I feel like this right now and it makes me mushy. Because I have overcome so much in silence, all I was holding onto was hope and sincerely I'm so glad that I got out of the "it's okay I get why they did it" era and got into a frame of mind of taking people for who they are, Instead of making excuses and hurting my own feelings. No more "what's so wrong with me that they're treating me like this?" Only "I don't like how this makes me feel, the reasoning behind their behaviour doesn't matter." And I remove myself immediately. I don't blame myself for how other people operate anymore.
Being told "you're too much" while being treated like you're "not enough" leaves a trauma survivor questioning how to be authentic without feeling unsafe. But the truth is, people's opinions and treatment of you isn't indicative of your worth. It's indicative of your incompatibility with them. We are generally different from each other. At times these differences can reach a common ground, other times they can't. This doesn't mean you're defective. Be more interested about how your life feels than how it looks to others. You're not responsible for people's made-up perception of you. Don't let their fiction become your truth. Normalize letting people assume fallaciously about you, knowing that the little fictional story in their minds is more about their fears and insecurities than your reality.

The book of Ruth illustrates the difference between those who step out in faith and take risks, and those who give in to fear, play it safe and miss God’s best for them. The book begins with these words: ‘There was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem, Judah, went to dwell in the country of Moab, he and his wife [Naomi] and his two sons’ (Ruth 1:1 NKJV).
Things went well for a while, then tragedy struck. Naomi’s husband Elimelech died, and she was left with her two sons. They married local girls named Orpah and Ruth and then the sons died. Overwhelmed with grief, Naomi decides to return home to Bethlehem and advises her two daughters-in-law to stay in Moab and hopefully find husbands and raise families. This is where the difference shows up in the two girls. Orpah decided to stay in Moab, even though it was a place of heartache and hard times. Why? Because it was the place she knew. It was her comfort zone. She didn’t have the faith to go forwards. Ruth was different. She said to Naomi: ‘Wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God’ (Ruth 1:16 NKJV). Orpah went back, Ruth went forwards. Back in Bethlehem, Ruth met Boaz, her new husband. Not only was he wealthy, but he took good care of her, and they had a son from whom descended both King David and our Lord Jesus.
God rewards faith, not fear. So the word for today is – it’s time to break with the past and move forwards.
