UK CAA Writes NCAA, Says Air Peace Has Violated Some Aviation Safety Regulations

The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) has raised safety violation concerns over Nigerian carrier Air Peace. This development occurred barely three months after the Nigerian airline commenced its Lagos-London route.

Safety Violations at London Gatwick Airport:The London Gatwick Airport filed two mandatory occurrence reports to the UK CAA against Air Peace’s operations at the airport.
The safety violation documents include the “United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report” and the “NATS Management System Safety Report.”
The UK CAA forwarded these complaints to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The UK CAA highlighted issues related to the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) functions affecting the safe operation of Air Peace’s aircraft.
Specifically, there was no operational approval for EFB functions, and the captain of the flight admitted that an EFB was being used for navigational purposes.
The CAA also noted that there was no mounting device for the use of EFB, no charging points, or battery for backup.

NCAA’s Response:
The NCAA received a SAFA Ramp Inspection Report conducted at London Gatwick on April 7, 2024, specifically on Air Peace’s B777-200 aircraft with registration number 5N-BE (S/N 28324).
The UK CAA had raised concerns about the EFB functions, emphasizing the lack of operational approval and necessary equipment.
The NCAA requested Air Peace to provide clarification on these findings.

    2. I sabi UK well well. Their spite and bad belle no get part 2. The other airlines will definitely gang up against Air Peace. They did it to Virgin and he took them to court. Air Peace needs to be very careful and leave no room for error when it comes to compliance. The Daily Fail are on a mission to bad mouth every high profile Nigerian that welcomed the Sussexes as the current RF have been stricken down with plagues and laziness and Harry is suing them. But every evil shall rebound on them a thousand fold.

    3. Most of you, for patriotism sake, just make comments without thinking through them. Other countries value human lives much more than you do in Nigeria? We are talking about aviation safety here and you guys are yarning dust. Wait for the investigation report from NCAA and response by Air Peace.

  9. Nigerians, I saw this coming and if the UK dares bar Airpeace from flying there! Then I will advise Nigerians to boycott visiting or going there!
Everything might not be working well in Nigeria currently! I am grateful that I didn't take the UK citizens or American citizenship, it would have made me go into comfortable slavery! I now prioritise Africa over all those places!
At first, didn't see it as God, ordering my footsteps! Now I am overly grateful!!!!

  11. The full report is needed. Pilots are typically quite meticulous and safety conscious and I expect that Air Peace would have done their due diligence, so where did this come from? What are these alleged violations that occurred?

    2. Many pilots still do safety checks on the aircraft with visual external and internal checks before takeoff. But without the full report who knows what is in it.

    2. The Sussex visit showed Nigeria in such a positive light around the world and the racists could not stand it. The other royal couple had a disastrous Caribbean tour and the PM of Jamaica even told them to their face that the country was moving on. The British media were also very upset that the visit went well and the invited press were no bad mouthing anybody.

  15. Air Peace, my advice to you guys is to do things by the books. Do not cut corners like most Nigerians do because many people don’t want you guys to succeed. Pls prioritize safety. Odikwa important
