  1. Stop holding on tight to toxic relationships...
A relationship should make you feel good and help you grow all round.
If your partner is CONSTANTLY making you unhappy and depressed, comot body! Don't allow anyone make you feel like you won't get someone better. Na lie! Afterall, the world has over 8 Billion people. Nigeria has over 240 Million. No let anybody use you shine o. Love with sense!

  2. Conquer Unrestrained Anger!!
    Ephesians 4:26.

"Your anger will never produce God's righteousness; it’ll lead to actions contrary to God's will. Anger causes people to take actions they otherwise wouldn’t have taken, and by the time they recollect, it might be too late."

"Therefore, conquer anger with the Word. Ephesians 4:26-27 TLB says, “If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly; for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.”

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, your Word is my life; thank you for the transformation, light and guidance that I receive today through your Word. My heart and mind are stayed only on your true and living Word. As I contemplate on it, I experience victory, divine health, and blessings and I’m continually metamorphosed from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  8. CROSSROADS
I liked the plot. Over 50% of my predictions fell short, which is good. Great acting especially by Femi Adebayo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Lateef Adedimeji, Aisha Lawal, Ibrahim Yekini, Bimbo Manuel etc. Femi Adebayo's acting stood out for me. It was delightful watching him portray his character. My favourite scene was when Deyemi went with a gun to confront Lateef only to end up..... (I won't give more spoilers here).

I'll give it a 65% for costuming. Why? During the second half of the movie, I began to see too many modern costumes that didn't fit into the era of the story. The costume manager should have paid more attention to this. And, how is it that Lateef who didn't have a teddy before he travelled for his Masters, suddenly returned with one on his face? I loved the hairstyles on the women though.

The props were good. Only things I noticed out of place were the gift bag Lateef presented to Bimbo Manuel which surely didn't exist in that era; and the #500 naira note Aisha paid to the onions seller. It's our current currency.

Back to the plot. I have too many unanswered questions. With the way blood gushed out of that wound, how is it that Aisha didn't bleed out, or at least pass out, moments after her upper arm was slashed with a knife? How was she still able to grab and hold on to Deyemi after he was shot - with the same severely wounded arm? We were told that Bimpe was preparing to study abroad, to be sponsored by her dad of course. Did the ambition fly out the window the moment she 'abandoned' her dad? Assuming she went to live with her sister, what did she do with her life the years before the reconciliatory meeting with their dad? Did Lateef sponsor her through school in Nigeria or what? I wish these questions were answered. What in the name of juvenile fight scenes were depicted during the rescue operation? Only Deyemi and Ibrahim stood out for me in this aspect. How did Seyi Awolowo manage to receive multiple gun shots (at least three) to critical areas on his body and still be able to keep charging confidently at his attacker and eventually fight him? How is it that not even one policeman could defeat any of the cultists they fought against? Not even their oga patapata? How did Kiekie's joke on APC fit into that era as I'm certain APC didn't exist then? When Deyemi hid in Aisha's room, she came out and lied to the policemen that she didn't see him, it was daytime. But immediately she entered, it was nighttime with a heavy rainfall. How???????? I could go on and on.

I noticed a few screenplay and editing errors but I'll forgive those because of one beauty I'll mention later. 😌

I wish more effort was exerted in terms of location, because it was pretty obvious that Bimbo's house and Adebayo Salami's house were buildings within the school environment, yet, Bimbo mentioned that his house wasn't far from the school.

As for the casting, because the actors did a good job portraying their characters, I'll forgive the annoying habit of casting directors and producers selecting actors obviously in their 30s and 40s to play characters of teenagers and 20-something year olds. Oh, well, I ended up giving more spoilers than intended. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I enjoyed this movie. I learnt new Yoruba proverbs. That language is rich.

Side musings: Bimpe is pregnant. I'm happy for her and her husband. My eyes enjoyed feasting on Yvonne Jegede's natural beauty. See ebony na!

    1. 1. Is Yvonne Jegede not Yoruba? Why was she speaking so so English?
      2. Yes, Femi Adebayo's acting stood out. Great actor!
      3. I didn't understand Kiekie's APC joke too but her sarcasms made me laugh .
      4. I really wished they showed the progression of how Eriola and Oyekan fell in love instead of just jumping into it... But okay😪
      5. I think that scene that switched from daytime to nighttime was to show that he hid in the house from afternoon till night, waiting for the coast to clear

Lemme goan complete the movie. I have like 15mins left🥱

      Delete
    2. I love reading your reviews. Thank you.

      Delete
    3. Fidel, I had same question on Yvonne's English too. She's probably not fluent at speaking Yoruba. Or, maybe it was deliberately scripted that way.
Some scenes definitely didn't make the Editor's cut. I guess that explains your number four. I noticed during the closing credits that Yemi Shodimu was listed as the Vice Chancellor, but we never saw him in the movie.
As for your fifth point, it crossed my mind too but it wasn't well depicted. That's why I questioned it as it was shown.

  10. Good morning people of SDK ville. What the present situation of things in the country is making some people do ehn. A middle-aged woman was caught in one of the shops around my shop yesterday evening with a carton of indomie noodles and peak milk satchet. She never knew that one of the boys in the shop saw her. As soon as she left the shop, she was called back and asked to surrender the items & immediately, they began giving her the beating of her life. After blaming her for what she did, some of us were pleading on her behalf because at this time, the boys were already planning to strip her naked. Luckily for the woman, someone who knows the owner of the shop walked in & that was what saved the situation. What angered the boys so much is that their Oga recently prolonged their settlement because according to him, his money has been missing and he has always believed that his boys are duping him.

  19. How do you correct a teacher that is not so good in maths but keep making mistakes.
This week, she is teaching them,Area and Perimeter of a rectangle and square.
She keeps failing my child,if he calculate the area of a square by using L×L.she is teaching them 4L which is wrong.
I am thinking of writing her a note this morning.
    Thanks everyone.

    1. Pls don't write a note but go over to the school and see d teacher face to face.at closing time.writting a note might send d wrong message.

    2. Honestly, I would report to the school. She shouldn’t be a teacher in the first place.

      Delete
    3. Are you sure is not the perimeter the teacher asked your son to find?

If you are sure it is the area, then no need to write her.

Go straight to the headmistress/headmaster's office and summon the teach there.
Also tell the owner of the school to change your son's teacher. Also tell the owner of the school to examine his/her teachers before employing them.
If the owner do nothing about it, please kindly change your son's school.

How on earth did you even kept quiet when you noticed it 1st.

During my secondary school days, I confronted my maths teacher when she made mistake in the class.
You know in maths , when addition or subtraction sign crosses the sign of equality it changes.
This teacher crossed a figure with minus sign over the sign of equality (=) and didn't change it to plus sign (+). After solving the maths, she didn't get the right answer. She wanted to force the whole class to believe that the answer in the book was wrong but her own answer was right.
I stood up and showed her her mistake and told her to study at home before coming to teach us.

One thing about maths is that any single mistake will mess up the whole solution process. So please do as I advised before one Olodo teacher will build a wrong foundation for your son in maths and that will affect him negatively in future.
Maths is not English that changes. Maths remains the same all through every academic level, just that it gets more advance.

      Delete
    4. Your decision is in order, but don't let her feel bad with the content of your note.

      Delete
    5. Report to the school in person. Letter writing won't solve a case as this.

      Delete
    6. Nah, this is a face to face issue. Note won't do it. After you have confirmed that she really doesn't know maths, I'm afraid you have to do what Eka is suggesting. Shuuu if she really doesn't know math, what has she been teaching the kids?!

      Delete
    7. Confirm that she is really wrong with proofs and then take her matter to the school management.

      Delete
    8. Be very your child isn't solving a wrong question first of all . Then Meets with the teacher and let her know she's fumbling and if she doesn't amend or claims any right, report her to the H/T

      Delete
    9. It has to be addressed because your child will not be getting the solid foundation to build upon in later years. If it means you have to find a new school so be it.

Personally, I would speak to the teacher privately first before bringing it to the principal. See how they address the matter and what their plans are for personal improvement.

  21. CHANGE HOW YOU PRAY

I have not stopped giving thanks for you.' Ephesians 1:16 NIV

Biblical prayers are powerful. They put things into perspective. For example, Paul prayed that God would give the Ephesians 'the Spirit of wisdom and revelation...that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you...and his incomparably great power' (Ephesians 1:17-19 NIV).

JoHannah Reardon writes: (1) Make your prayers God-centred. The Creator of the universe has given you the privilege of bringing your requests to him. When you tell God how great he is, you're filled with an expectancy that something great can happen because you're talking to the one who can do anything. (2) Make them praise-filled. Paul starts by saying, 'I have not stopped giving thanks for you' (Ephesians 1:16 NIV). The key isn't to focus on your troubles, but to thank God and praise him because he knows what he is doing. Learn to say, 'I don't know why I'm having this problem, Lord, and I would love for you to change things. But if you don't, I know you will use it for good in my life.' (3) Make them life-changing. Most of our prayers are asking God to change our circumstances. But maybe he wants to change you. That doesn't mean he won't ever intervene; he supplies needs, opens doors and heals people in incredible ways every day.

Have you been praying for something that never seems to happen? Could you possibly need to look at changing the way you pray? Paul found joy in a prison cell, and when God opens your eyes, you can find joy in your situation too.

No be small werey I do for my children school yesterday, I went to pick my children, and I saw my second son with a swollen eye and face, I just went straight to the principal, she was nonplussed too, and called the teachers, it was a boy that pushed a girl that was passing, she fell on my son, and his face landed on the tiles, imagine the intensity of the pushing 😩 hmmmmm I first went to drop them at home and came back, I demanded they bring out the boy and call his mother, I was that angry, it was only God that saved my son's eye, bullying involves intimidation, pushing, insults, e.t.c I always tell my children every morning don't fight anyone, always report to your teacher if anyone is giving you tough time, I wonder the kind of homes some people come from, it s what the parents do, that children emulate outside, my boy is still in serious pain after using iceblock and Shea butter😔😔😔

This is why I always beg my son not to play rough and in the case of bully, defend yourself or report to your teacher but never go looking for trouble or start a fight with anyone. May God keep them safe. We can only try. It's well.

My Gee, in all you do in this life, make good money. Become wealthy. Times indeed have changed.

Have you ever been blocked by a lady right after you just sent her money?

I will never forget that experience in life(2021). Sandra blocked me after I transferred the little 10k I struggled to raise back then when I was wooing her. My only crime was that I delayed over four days. What if it was something that was meant to take her life she said to me before blocking me.

Some of us have learnt the hard way in this life I can tell you that.

So when we advise you, pls believe us.

    2. This advice is the reason why we have plenty Yahoo boys, ritualists, kidnappers, thieves, etc. You want them to make money to catch girls, because of woman you want to make money not because of other useful reasons.
Your type will have money now and start dating different girls because you now have money to impress them.
The earlier you realise that not everyone will be rich no matter what, the better for you.
Know this, not every woman is after your money before loving you, another one is that some women may pretend to love you because of your money.

  37. Good morning everyone 🥰🥰🥰

Many people struggle with communication because instead of considering the other person's perceptive, they become defensive and focus on defending themselves against perceived criticism. This defensiveness creates a disconnect in the conversation. I think the biggest issue people face in communication is often their lack of respect for differing opinions. If they don't understand your perperctive, they tend to dismiss it. I have noticed a lot of adults don't know how to disagree or engage in a proper discussion without becoming disrespectful or defensive and that's a major issue. Many lack the proper communication skills and bandwidth for expressing themselves without hostility or disrespect. Just because someone disagree with you, doesn't mean that they hate you and it doesn't mean they are trying to argue with you as well. Some of us like to talk things out and we love clarity. We are adults, why can't we communicate? We really need to relearn this in our society.

You want to know someone's true nature? See how they react when they are being countered, corrected, or given a sound advice. The behaviour in that situation will reveal all you need to know.

Adults need to understand that few arguments are resolved by landing on the same page. Most are reconciled by recongnizing that reasonable people can hold different views. The highest goal of disagreement is not to determine who's right. It is to maintain neutral respect and gain mutual understanding.

    Y'all have a great day ahead 😘😘😘

Wahala is when you force a child to go and learn a skill because she is roaming around with boys.. Our girl will leave home but will not get to her workshop, she will go and camp with a man and return home in the evening.

  49. I hope everyone who needs something good to happen to them today that their prayers will be answered. May you connect with the right ppl and places along your path today. May the doors you knock on be opened, May the calls you make be answered with joy, may you find what you seek. May those you meet with welcome you with favour. It is not the times of the day that determines our destinies, it’s by faith, perseverance and a daring to believe that it is possible for us. So be fearless and go to the places that they say is not for you.

Jesus left Nazareth with its unwholesome reputation and dared to speak on spiritual matters without status, without knowing the right ppl and without being ordained by any earthly person or body and he changed the world. Dare to go anywhere you want to go even with nothing or no one to back you. Dare to believe!

  50. It's a sunny morning here
    Throwback Thursday
Throwback to when people used to hide it when they give birth via CS. Nowadays, they even announce it by themselves. My neighbor just gave birth two days ago, when I visited her in the hospital this morning on my way to shop, I asked why she has not come home, she said she opted for CS cos the baby was too big and they want to monitor her till this evening, that she is supposed to spend at least three days in the hospital.
The world has come a long way indeed!
I wish her a speedy recovery
