Friday Night Gisting Post

Amebo or gisting post, all nah the same!!!..Let's gist!!!

  1. Sometime earlier this month, I got an offer, a tempting one with a clause and its materialization is hinged on my relocation to Abuja.

Abuja very nice and cool but then, it's one place I don't think I want to stay. Though I've visited multiple times but I don't feel like it over there. Next to it, is Lagos. Also spent weeks there as well.

If you ask me my reason(s), I may not be able to explain. It's just the way I feel.

I once traveled to Lokoja and was staying around Ganaja axis. A company had employed me at the time(2016) but then I didn't stay more than two months. I left one day after turning in my resignation letter. The Director felt bad and was asking if it's all about the salary, that it can be looked into.

It takes me time to make decision(s) in life and most times, it keeps me awake all through the night when weighing those thoughts. Once I'm done on a thing, it's futile trying to convince me to do otherwise.

I have till the end of this month to respond to the offer.

    1. Goodevening Mr Teejay,Will it be a Bad Idea if You cross your mind and take up the Job offer in Abuja? Taking into Consideration that Good jobs are scarce and Nigeria is getting harder and Harder.

    2. What you feel, and what "it actually is" are two different things.

Most times you just need to start or do something new;and who knows? The means could justify the end for you.

That life changing connection or breakthrough through human could just be there waiting for you.

Check Abuja out Bro,if it favours you(which I hope for you) then you WIN.
If it doesn't turn out well on the long run;then you LEARN.

      Either way;you lose nothing much.

Leave your comfort zone Ezege worldwide,A man shouldn't be scared of trying out something new regarding his ambition or future๐Ÿ˜‰.

    4. Teejay, what is the worst that could happen to you by living and working in Abuja? Don’t let sentiments guide your life and decisions, be practical and intentional. Folks are out here cramming into unsafe vessels overcrowded like sardines in a tin on a terrible sea just hanging by the hopes to make it to Europe and a better life. Some are going through the Sahara and dealing with the harsh climate and the possibility of being captured for slavery or forced prostitution, if all you have to face is going to Abuja, then that is not so bad. Go and see what may be for you. You missed out on the cryptocurrency, do not miss out on Abuja too. There are great ppl in Abuja waiting to meet you.

    5. I can understand your position. I was in a similar fix a couple of years back or so. I found Abuja to be rather 'impersonal' for lack of a better term. I like a city with a certain feel or spirit. Abuja is just there... No sense of community. Nobody send you.

Looking back now, I think I should have made that move then. Now wey responsibility don plenty. And to think that most of my clients sef na Abuja dem dey.

  10. The way I managed 6k today for stew and soup is still surprising to me. What baba T's regime cannot do does not exist walai. I still bought half crate of egg from the money.
    Here's a breakdown of everything I bought
    Half crate of eggs: 1600
    Beef: 1500
    Tomatoes, attarugu and onions: 800
Groundnut for soup: 250 for 1 and half cup
    Ugu: 300
    Shawa fish: 600
    Maggi: 300 for quater
    Pomo: 500
    Then a bag of water

Every other thing needed, I had at home.
I've prepared my soup and stew, I have eaten and I have put the remaining in the fridge.

If there is a time to appreciate staying in the north it is now. Even with the hardship and soar in prices, things are still a little bit affordable.

The downside of the north is the rather limited economic opportunities here but food and rent plus transportation are a bargain for now at least.

Took my first to school as normal this morning. To my surprise, he stopped me at the gate, collected his lunch pack, waived me away and proceeded into the school by himself. He had done the same thing yesterday. He is just 4. The normal thing is I walk him right into the class but he isn't having any of that anymore.

I was taken aback really. While it is a thing of joy to see my little chap developing agency all on his own, I find myself struggling with it. I mean 4 years is just like yesterday and here is my baby already taking steps towards Independence. Oh! How I love that chap. His birthday is just around the corner and I'm going to spoil him silly.

Let him get him some money to rent a single room.
The only cheat code I have is to pray the house becomes inconvenient for him, he'll pack out when everything God created begins to work against.
