Sometime earlier this month, I got an offer, a tempting one with a clause and its materialization is hinged on my relocation to Abuja.
ReplyDeleteAbuja very nice and cool but then, it's one place I don't think I want to stay. Though I've visited multiple times but I don't feel like it over there. Next to it, is Lagos. Also spent weeks there as well.
If you ask me my reason(s), I may not be able to explain. It's just the way I feel.
I once traveled to Lokoja and was staying around Ganaja axis. A company had employed me at the time(2016) but then I didn't stay more than two months. I left one day after turning in my resignation letter. The Director felt bad and was asking if it's all about the salary, that it can be looked into.
It takes me time to make decision(s) in life and most times, it keeps me awake all through the night when weighing those thoughts. Once I'm done on a thing, it's futile trying to convince me to do otherwise.
I have till the end of this month to respond to the offer.

Goodevening Mr Teejay,Will it be a Bad Idea if You cross your mind and take up the Job offer in Abuja? Taking into Consideration that Good jobs are scarce and Nigeria is getting harder and Harder.
DeleteWhat you feel, and what "it actually is" are two different things.
DeleteMost times you just need to start or do something new;and who knows? The means could justify the end for you.
That life changing connection or breakthrough through human could just be there waiting for you.
Check Abuja out Bro,if it favours you(which I hope for you) then you WIN.
If it doesn't turn out well on the long run;then you LEARN.
Either way;you lose nothing much.
Leave your comfort zone Ezege worldwide,A man shouldn't be scared of trying out something new regarding his ambition or future๐.

@MARTINS
Thanks Martins. Your comment made me to laugh. You're actually right.
DeleteMarie, thanks to you too. I appreciate

Teejay, what is the worst that could happen to you by living and working in Abuja? Don’t let sentiments guide your life and decisions, be practical and intentional. Folks are out here cramming into unsafe vessels overcrowded like sardines in a tin on a terrible sea just hanging by the hopes to make it to Europe and a better life. Some are going through the Sahara and dealing with the harsh climate and the possibility of being captured for slavery or forced prostitution, if all you have to face is going to Abuja, then that is not so bad. Go and see what may be for you. You missed out on the cryptocurrency, do not miss out on Abuja too. There are great ppl in Abuja waiting to meet you.
DeleteI can understand your position. I was in a similar fix a couple of years back or so. I found Abuja to be rather 'impersonal' for lack of a better term. I like a city with a certain feel or spirit. Abuja is just there... No sense of community. Nobody send you.
DeleteLooking back now, I think I should have made that move then. Now wey responsibility don plenty. And to think that most of my clients sef na Abuja dem dey.
Oh Martins you just said exactly what I wanted to type. Teejay abeg no dulling go for the job, I wish you success.

DeleteThe way I managed 6k today for stew and soup is still surprising to me. What baba T's regime cannot do does not exist walai. I still bought half crate of egg from the money.
ReplyDeleteHere's a breakdown of everything I bought
Half crate of eggs: 1600
Beef: 1500
Tomatoes, attarugu and onions: 800
Groundnut for soup: 250 for 1 and half cup
Ugu: 300
Shawa fish: 600
Maggi: 300 for quater
Pomo: 500
Then a bag of water
Every other thing needed, I had at home.
I've prepared my soup and stew, I have eaten and I have put the remaining in the fridge.
If there is a time to appreciate staying in the north it is now. Even with the hardship and soar in prices, things are still a little bit affordable.
I am covered "food wise" until next week Thursday or Friday.
Life of a single girl staying alone.
I hope you'll had a great day? Enjoy your evening
Half crate of eggs for N1600. My area is N1900 o.
DeleteThank you for sharing. Glad it will be able to sustain you for a week.
DeleteWalahi, we in the north have it easy as far as food is concerned. I bought a rather large ram head with the lower legs for 3k just yesterday. It filled the pot. I wish i can attach it.
DeleteThe downside of the north is the rather limited economic opportunities here but food and rent plus transportation are a bargain for now at least.
Half crate of eggs is 1950 in my area
DeleteWow. Beef 1500 ke? That should be like 6 tiny pieces here except you go directly to the slaughter.
DeleteThat amount of eggs where I am is 2000. You have done well with your money sha.

Life is lonely because nobody truly understands your feelings. Even though others see your pain, they can't feel it. But through support and presence, we can make each other's lives a little less lonely.

DeleteJust home surfing the net. So I decided it was time I learnt a new skill since I have spare time on my hands, i prayed about it for while and the holy Spirit led me to fashion designing. Omo I am so excited, just one week into learning and I finally sew a short flare skirt. Before now I couldn't even sew a common g string ๐. I am so proud of myself.
ReplyDeleteWhen I become a pro, I might send my work for sdk to advertise for me ๐.
Tomorrow I might sew a bum short.
Wonderful. Keep going, your excitement is beautiful.

If you see the amount of crabs I got for 400naira today ehnnn? a whole paint bucket after cleaning it and I still gave people out of it o, I never knew it's so cheap like so if one buys from the fishermen.
I've been hearing about it,I just decided to tag along,lo and behold.
We don chop tire o,as I'm frying we're eating as he dey hot lol.....and I still have a lot left in my fridge. I'm making crab stew for rice tomorrow, atagbigbe and enough onions to the rescue,I'll soak the pepper overnight to reduce the hotness.
Infact I'm going back tomorrow to buy for some people that saw it with me.
Keni nice night ๐✌️
See enjoyment, wish I can send money for you to help me buy and waybill oo
DeleteI wish I liked crab. My bestie loves that stuff. Enjoy your crabs, once more ppl catch on price will go up.
DeleteThere is one fisherman that brings crab for me for shikini money too but he quarreled with my neighbor, (very nonsense girl) and said he will never sell crab to her again.
DeleteIf I had known, I would have collected his number
Crab is so delicious
I've never tasted crab before. I'm not a seafood person except maybe periwinkle and fish. Not a fan of crayfish, snail or ๐ฆ

You remind me of a supervisor I once had. That beech was getting married a whole year away and everything was already booked and set an entire year in advance. She was so proud of herself.

ReplyDeleteI have been eating a lot of jackfruit today and made a jackfruit punch that wasn’t half bad. Gonna order some Thai food later and do nothing interesting, maybe watch a movie or do some readings. I love this time of the day between 4pm-6pm, the sun is not too high or hot and the whole world just seems to get a little bit quieter๐
Felt so emotional today.
ReplyDeleteTook my first to school as normal this morning. To my surprise, he stopped me at the gate, collected his lunch pack, waived me away and proceeded into the school by himself. He had done the same thing yesterday. He is just 4. The normal thing is I walk him right into the class but he isn't having any of that anymore.
I was taken aback really. While it is a thing of joy to see my little chap developing agency all on his own, I find myself struggling with it. I mean 4 years is just like yesterday and here is my baby already taking steps towards Independence. Oh! How I love that chap. His birthday is just around the corner and I'm going to spoil him silly.
Men.. fatherhood.. nothing like it.

DeleteHe is an independent little one. It’s takes a different set of skills to parent an independent child.

Big mama took a bow yesterday to meet with her creator. She wished not to enter the morgue and to be committed to mother earth same day. A dead wonan's wish must be obeyed.
ReplyDeleteCome and see party same yesterday as if it was all planned
Canopies , music etc were all set up as if they were already planned. Assorted Drinks everywhere . We made some sales too.
The one that shocked me was cooking. Food was ready within hours . Who says money is not good ?

ReplyDeleteHaaaa! Your husband needs to priortize his daughter, you don't want to know the kind of fear she lives with in her parents house, that episode will continue to play in her mind anytime she set her eyes on him.
ReplyDeleteLet him get him some money to rent a single room.
The only cheat code I have is to pray the house becomes inconvenient for him, he'll pack out when everything God created begins to work against.
If things get worse which I don't pray for, your daughter will hate both you and her dad for not defending her
