We also talked about TEC+, the conference she's organizing for digital creators.
I'm one of the Speakers in the TEC+ Conference.
On this particular day, I learnt a new word from Tina who was my student in UniPort.
"It seems you're an ambivert", she said to ME.
It was the first time I was hearing the word.
So I asked, "Ambivert, what's that?"
She told ME.
When I got home, I googled the word.
And I found other words closely associated with ambivert: introvert, extrovert, and omnivert.
Now expand your vocabulary with these words and their meanings.
Let's start with the two you already know.
Introvert
someone who is shy, quiet, and prefers to spend time alone rather than often being with other people. The introvert loves to spend time all alone.
Extrovert
someone who is active and confident, and who enjoys spending time with other people. The extrovert loves to spend time in the company of other people.
Ambivert
someone who has the personality traits of an introvert and an extrovert and carefully switches to either of them to suit any situation.
For example, if the ambivert attends a social activity they can move from one end of the hall to the other happily chatting with people, making friends and generally socialising.
If they get home, they can spend a whole day or two in their own space/ room without coming out to interact with anyone (neighbours, friends, etc).
Omnivert
someone who has the combined characteristics of an introvert and an extrovert and displays them at the same time whatever the situation.
For example, at an occasion the omnivert can at one moment be all alone and withdrawn. In the next minute, they're all over the place socialising.
