  5. Why didn't they write the location of all of them?
I knew University of Ilorin, University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria Enugu, Bayero University Kano and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife would make the list.
Stella, I was expecting Ahmadu Bello University Zaria to make the list too, what happened.
Meanwhile, what is Lagos State University doing on that list? A glorified secondary school.
Thank God they did not put University of Abuja, useless school.
Abuja deserves a good school like the ones in Lagos and Ibadan. People there should console themselves with Nassarawa state University.

    2. Thank you. Nigerians need more exposure. Covenant university is no.1? It’s a liberal arts school on the level of a decent community college that does a lot of PR & produced YouTube & Nollywood skit makers!

They even paid for it to be ahead of ibadan, the former University Of London Campus? Ahead of Ife, Nsukka? It’s a joke? Check the US News & World Ranking , Shanghai University Ranking and RANKINGS recognized by the globe and the ONLY globally ranked university in Nigeria (as at last year )is University of Ibadan because one of the criteria in which they will always have an edge is the number of Nobel Winning Alums, presence and achievements of Alums globally and Researches done in the university. Some of the best physicians in the US went to UI and some attended the oldest 8 universities. Same as many of the professors, Professionals etc. Alumni achievement and network is another criteria used. Nollywood Skit makers are the only folks that come to mind with Covenant, Davido comes to mind with Babcock. Davido is a good one because he is a global star so that could actually help Babcock ranking but they say covenant is better than Babcock so it makes me wonder.

The dumbing down of this generation of Nigerians is very disturbing. Covenant is better than Nsukka, Ife, ABU , Benin, Ilorin etc? It’s a joke. What many don’t know is that some PAY for these rankings so those in academia only use certain reputable rankings. Covenant ko, Adewunmi university ni. These folks don’t realize what a university should look like. The moment they open up a sector, mediocrity creeps in. Check out podcasts. I remember driving a visiting high schooler from Nigeria to our children’s high school and he was asking if it’s a university because they have three stadia and occupy a whole street & the school band is a Grammy winner! Their pre-engineering lab is probably more equipped than covenant’s engineering labs combined! It’s about $, the equipments to teach science and tech is expensive! Any wonder we have these schools and nobody can produce a pencil from the scratch!
The world will not dumb down itself for us. Most of those professors are half baked. Do you know why some 150 year old universities here do not offer Engineering or some sciences? They know that you need the latest tools and equipments for the education to be useful. Yet you have all these glorified liberal arts schools just offering medicine with high school level laboratory! Smh. Go online and check Shanghai ranking of universities and US News and World report. They cannot bribe those. I can’t tell how many times I’ve been nominated for “who is who” if I advertise in the publication depending on the group. Not every ranking is credible. Ask yourself who owns these schools & how did their “professors” suddenly crop up & you will start solving the problem of corruption.
