Sirika is being grilled by the anti-graft agency in connection with an ongoing investigation related to money laundering amounting to N8,069,176,864.00.
It’s gathered that the accused ex-Minister of Aviation appeared at the EFCC’s Federal Capital Territory Command around 2:00pm on Tuesday April 23, 2024.
Sources familiar with the development said the anti-graft commission is investigating the activities of the Aviation Ministry for conspiracy, abuse of office, diversion of public funds, and contract inflation.
The investigators of the EFCC are interrogating the former aviation minister over alleged fraudulent contracts he authorized for a company called Engirios Nigeria Limited, which is owned by his younger sibling, Abubakar Sirika.
It was noted that there is no trace of work done on any of the contract items to date.
Abubakar has been arrested by the EFCC since February and he has been assisting with investigation into the criminal activities of him and bis brother.
Long overdue....

Appalling. So there is no governing body to ensure that there is no conflict of interest when contracts are granted. What kind of cowboy politics is happening in Nigeria? Money just moving in any direction without any auditing or follow-up on these supposed projects. The level of greed boggles my mind. 8 billion dollars for one person, while the masses suffer. Who needs 8 billion in one lifetime.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of money floating around these politicians is mind numbing!
