The UK Home Office made this known in a statement published on the government’s website on Monday March 11, 2024.
It described the development as a new law “to cut migration and tackle care worker visa abuse,” stating that a disproportionate 120,000 dependants accompanied 100,000 workers to the country in 2023.
“Care providers in England acting as sponsors for migrants will also be required to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the industry regulator for Health and Social Care – in order to crack down on worker exploitation and abuse within the sector,” the statement reads in part.
“It forms part of a wider package of measures, which is being implemented as soon as possible, which means a total of 300,000 people who were eligible to come to the UK last year would now not be able to do so.”

DeleteNigerians have been in the UK since the 40s confirmed.
I am a second generation British citizen and my chid is 3rd generation.
But this generation of Nigerians - I just shake my head.
Common sense they do not have, no love for each other.
They even charge themselves thousands of pounds just to bring people over.
They are not it at all.
My Boss just went last week with his two children to meet the wife, he is lucky
ReplyDeleteWe told y'all it was all neocolonialism aka dressed up slavery but some of you thought we were naysayers. They ain't coming with ships now, but not much is different. Anywho, go and get the opportunity if you desire but know that it is not altruism, you are just a migrant worker. Save your money and have a retirement plan. Build something for yourself in your own country.
ReplyDeleteThey will not take your advise, the curse of slavery is strong, they must look for a way to fulfill that curse

ReplyDeleteCanada immigration minister is writing his own memo right now! Canada will follow suit soon
ReplyDeleteThe UK home office is incompetent. This problem was their fault. How can you grant 100 cos to a company that does not even have any job contract.
ReplyDeleteThey refused to do credible checks. They were awarding cos without due diligence....simply because of the money the UK govt was making from it.
Now it backfired and they are blaming migrants for it
