The governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti on Saturday debunked the claim that the decision of the Abia State House of Assembly lawmakers to outlaw the payment of pensions to the past governors and deputies of the state was targeted at his predecessor, Okezie Ikpeazu. In a statement issued by Otti’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti maintained that his predecessor was not targeted.

Worried by the worsening insecurity situation in Benue State occasioned by continued bandits and herdsmen killing, the Benue State government has set up Mining Marshals. The mining marshals are drawn from mainly personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The primary duty of the mining marshals is to safeguard lives and property around sites and communities within the state.

Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command on Saturday apprehended a suspected notorious kidnappers’ gang leader, Saidu Yakubu, also known as “Ismail.” The gang was said to be behind the September 7, 2023 attack at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese, in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, razing the parish house together with a seminarian, Na’aman Danladi, to death.

Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have rescued 16 Twansgira (Almajiri) children kidnapped by bandits/terrorists in Sokoto State working jointly with local authorities and government agencies. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) made this known in a statement on Saturday.

ReplyDeleteThis ambushing and killing of security operatives in Delta should be looked into. I doubt the indigenes of this communities perpetrate this.

It is very obvious that APC is using same technique they use to take bsndits into the SE; they want to do same in Delta State. Nothing concern Delta indigenes and this kind of activity; people here are currently focused on theirlife!!! Delta is not IMO state; nobody will use emergency status to come and install any APC supreme court governor in the state. It will not work.
