The Nigerian Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has revealed plans to place a bounty on those declared wanted over the killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama community, Delta State. DHQ in a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Buba Edward said the military was fully committed to apprehending all individuals who have been declared wanted.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the Senate is set to recall Senator Abdul Ningi from his three-month suspension. He disclosed this while answering questions from reporters on arrival from the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.

.Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, says the victory of Bassirou Diomaye Faye in Senegal has underscored the need for opposition parties in Nigeria to unite and remove President Bola Tinubu in 2027.  The Central Bank of Nigeria plans to closely monitor the recapitalisation of the Nigerian banking sector, alongside law enforcement agencies. The Director of the CBN’s Financial Policy and Regulation Department, Haruna Mustafa, disclosed this in a circular on Friday.

 The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says 19 political parties will be participating in the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State. Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, said that the political parties have notified the Commission of their readiness to participate in the poll.

 The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the deployment of police personnel and operational assets to areas of likely security threats nationwide ahead of the 2024 Easter celebration. A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja said the Inspector-General of Police also ordered round-the-clock security and protection of public spaces across the country, before, during and after the Easter celebration.
