The Kaduna State police command on Monday confirmed the abduction of 86 persons from the Kajuru-Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. They were kidnapped on Sunday by the bandits terrorizing the state.

 Twelve more Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, directors may have been scheduled for dismissal, it was learnt on Monday. Reports on the planned sack of the senior personnel followed the termination of the appointments of seven directors by the apex bank last Friday.

 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday handed over documents of properties and 324 houses recovered for Kano State pensioners to them. The handing over of the houses by the Abuja Zonal Command of the EFCC, followed a final forfeiture order granted by Justice I.E. Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

 The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is to begin sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Ondo State governorship election on the 3rd through to the 10th of April, 2024. APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, in a notice issued on Monday, said the release of the timetable and schedule of activities complied with the Electoral Act 2022 and relevant sections of the constitution.

 The village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi, has been murdered. It was gathered that the village head was earlier kidnapped by gunmen who invaded his domain on Friday, March 15, 2024.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria and the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria have projected a marginal reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, produced from the Port Harcourt Refining Company once the plant begins operations next month.

 National President, Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, has called on the Federal Government to pay the four months withheld salaries of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions. This was in reaction to the seven-day warning strike that SSANU/NASU began on Monday, which grounded universities’ activities across the country.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has advocated for a five-year period after the completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the commencement of repayment for beneficiaries of the Federal Government loan scheme.
NANS argued that expecting repayment to start just two years after NYSC is not realistic, as less than 10 percent of graduates secure employment within that time frame.
President of NANS, Lucky Emonele, made this proposal in Abuja during a public hearing on the repeal and re-enactment of the 2024 Students Loans Access to Higher Education Bill.

The Labour Party, LP, has warned federal lawmakers, especially members of the House of Representatives, elected on its platform, to respect the party’s supremacy or face disciplinary action.
The party issued the warning in a statement released on Monday by Obiora Ifoh, its National Publicity Secretary.
The statement said that the lawmakers have failed to be true ambassadors of the people and the Labour Party, considering the sacrifices made by Nigerians in electing them.
