NCC Blocks About 40 Million Lines Over Failure To Link NIN

Is your number still working?
About 40 million telephone lines were barred by telecommunication operators over the weekend following the expiration of the February 28, 2024, deadline issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission mandating telecom consumers to link the Subscriber Identity Module to their National Identity Numbers.

  3. Some of the numbers not linked are due to negligence from the service providers.
I for one ensured that I physically went to the offices of my network providers to link mine, way back when I just got my NIN. I filled their forms and did everything back then, only to be told now that I have not yet linked my NIN. 🙄
I have been trying to link it online for some days now, but it is not going through. Now going to their office is like a day's job because you go queue tire there.
Why can't some people do their jobs diligently and quit making things more difficult than it should be? 😩

  4. My own question is that why can't they be good at it, do it once without further issue after the whole stress including money spent. If SIM registration worked they wouldn't have asked for NIN link. 40 million lines barred ,It will affect both network providers and the users.

  5. Nigerian government should focus on the important things and not levity matters. They are not forward thinking ata all. They didn't even make provisions for Nigerians in the diaspora that still have active numbers. Must we always physically do verification can't they do online verification like other Europena countries do. I tire for Nigeria.

  6. One of the worst governing agency app is the NIMC app. Nothing resourceful about it, abd and I'm quite sure it was developed with millions.
