Canada Based Nigerian Lady Compares Working In A Bank In Canada And In Nigeria

Interestng story....

''Two incidents happened when I got to Canada newly that made me hate Nigerian working environment so much. I will tell you one of the incidents.
My first job in Canada was in a Bank. One day, a colleague was crying in the office, apparently the client she was attending to, shouted at her and promised to deal with her if she lose her business deal as a result of what my colleague refused to do for her.
My colleague called our manager, who was on vacation as at then, the manager called the police, and the police went after the client to arrest her. He further called the bank's head office to inform them of the situation. The head office sent a mail that they will fly in a counselor to our branch. Within 2 days, the counsellor landed and booked a session for each of us. I asked in a meeting why do we need a counselor, they told me because of the emotional trauma we must have gone through seeing our colleague crying. The bank further offered everyone 1 or 2 days off to recover.
I just laughed to myself, this people had no idea what we see at work everyday in Nigeria. this people dont know the real definition of shege pro max.
It made me remembered what i went through in Nigeria financial institution in Nigeria. I dont want to mention my former place of work o, but I pray one day you guys will face serious sanctions for how you treat your employee bad and subject them inhumane treatment and emotional heartache.''

  1. That's the reason why I belive no leader cam change this country through democracy but only through force or military.
Naija way needs to be changed through force to meet up with best practices.
These forms of abuse starts from the family unit and over time we all get used to it and all and we all complain.
It's good to travel and see so on3s horizon will be expanded and not limited.

    2. My dear, enjoy your daily micro-aggressions in peace. Don't mislead innocent Nigerians into thinking that they won't be traumatized by whites when they get there.

    3. Here's the problem with us. This same banker lady will return to nigeria in future to manage a bank or let's say cbn, instead of implementing all these changes, she will continue with same corrupt system till she eventually retire. Most of our governors eg obaseki of edo state lived and schooled abroad. What changes has he made? Even roads has no walk ways. Gutters are open, street lights almost non existence

  2. What one go through as a banker worker is not something one should speak about. Here some customers will even slap you and insult all your generations yet you are not allowed to say a word. When you report the incident to your manager you will hear customers are always right.

Enjoy your working experience in Canada.

  3. Ha! My own I'm seeing shege pro max from both customers and my boss, even when they're wrong we're conditioned to smile and even thank their wickedness like we're being done a favour. Working in an environment that is not conducive to being owed salaries and working than what you're being paid... Government should put regulatory bodies to control things like this from happening because for how long will one be changing jobs in a country where the rate of unemployment is high.

    1. There is no sane society out there, love and accept the uniqueness of your country and people without constantly comparing it with societies that you know nothing about.those imperialist racists will never ever accept you as their equals.

  8. Ask the narrator to start a business now and see how he will treat people. Nigerians who have business abroad after living there for 20 years still treat their staff as if they are in Nigeria.
