This decision comes after Oluchi Opara, the national treasurer of the LP, accused Julius Abure, the national chairman of the party, of misappropriating N3.5 billion.
In response to the allegation, the party suspended Opara, claiming she was being influenced by “external forces” intent on destroying the LP. Julius Abure also vowed to institute legal action against Opara for defaming his person.
Peter Obi, in a press conference, stated, “we will account for everything now that we have an independent person who will tell us which way forward.” He further clarified that he was not involved in the party’s management and the campaign accounts and assured that the money people gave him during the election was paid into one account or the other which was properly managed because he knew there would be days like this.

He didn't know before the whistle was blown?

You are obviously responding to this news based on blog headlines. if you watched the press conference on TV like i did, Peter Obi said it was the Dollars donated by the supporters abroad that he changed to Naira and gave the campaign as N800m, it was not his personal money.
DeleteTo be specific, someone asked him to confirm if it is true that over $150m was donated to him, he responded that what he got as FX was just about 1% of that amount and that was what he changed to the N800 million that he gave the campaign, the video is still on YouTube.
This is same way you guys form wrong impressions and criticise other parties and candidates just based on headline without getting the full story.
