DSS Urges Organised Labour To Postpone Planned Strike And Explains Why...

Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS) has urged organised labour to shelve its planned protests against the prevailing economic situation in the country.

The organised labour, which began mobilizing its members for a protest slated for February 27 and 28,2024 is being called upon to reconsider their plan in the interest of peace and public order. The DSS emphasized that some elements are planning to exploit the protests to foment crisis and violence, which would worsen the socio-economic situation across the country. Instead, the DSS encourages dialogue and negotiation to address the current difficulties. Citizens are reminded that what remains unsolved in peacetime cannot be attained in war-time, and everyone would be a casualty in times of trouble.
Parents, guardians, and all sectors are also urged to promote public safety and harmony by avoiding violence and demonstrating leadership during these challenging times
