Boredom Eliminating Post

  1. I have never been stranded as in not knowing what to do but I have ran out of transportation even before getting to my destination. All thanks to a phone call and a card was sent to me which I sold and continue my journey.

This happened around 2009 at Benin. I had left Lagos to Onitsha. The agboro lied to me the bus was going to Onitsha only to be dropped at Benin as their last bus stop. This was past 7pm at night.

I had just been duped at Lagos and I was going back. It was my first time going to Lagos. Maybe I will take out time to share that dupe story one of these days.

    1. Was stranded several times in my university days because I had very poor financial habits then. I took time to pray about it and work on myself and I'm proud of the level of financial discipline and management I have today.

  2. We went to visit a family far away from our base. On our way back, our vehicle spoilt. To go back to our host was not possible. So the family where our car spoilt gave up their comfort for us that night. God bless them

About 15yrs ago, I and my younger brother were returning back to portharcourt from osun state
We went for holiday. The transport company gave the driver my parents number to call them when he drop us at their PH terminal
But unfortunately, our car develop fault at ughelli, Delta state. So we got to portharcourt really late
Instead of the man to drop us as instructed, he gave me money to transport and drop us at rumuokoro
I took a bus along with my younger brother and the driver drop us at igwruta around past 11pm
By the time we got to igwruta, everywhere was dark and quiet
    Only few passerbys
    No telephone to call
    I started crying ooo
I even stopped a police vehicle, they did not look at us
Fortunately, I saw a couple passing and I begged them to help me call my parents. They were not with their mobile phone but the man offered to help us by taking us home. He told me that he knows a Yoruba woman that can accommodate us till the next day
I had no other option but to follow him
When we got home, he gave us a mat and told us to sleep on it
I didn't sleep till the next day
The next morning, he took us to the garage and I took a cab straight home
My parents didn't sleep that night, they waited for us at the park until their closing hour and the driver's number was not going through
I still get chills when I remember that incident
Thank God it did not happen this period

    1. Thank God it's not now with all the kidnapping going on, but the driver is a wicked man, he could have dropped you and your brother at their park, it's safer there.

Some drivers are just stupid, they don’t care.

Going to Jos from Bauchi, they put me inside a J5 bus that looked same as Plateau Riders, collected ticket and ticked it.
I confidently put headphones on, pulled out my novel and was reading jejely.
Next thing was driver tapped me "nyarinya kwom dan dis last stop por here".
I saw welcome to Biliri. Bili gini?
Na for Secretariat I land next.

  7. On my way back home from nysc October 2022, portharcout to crossriver state .
The vehicle broke down in a very busy lonely area. The driver knew fully dat the vehicle had issues but he kept going, we complained and he said it was fine.
Finally it broke down, everyone became stranded. He refused refunding our money and some started fighting him...but it was needless cos he claimed dat he wasn't with any money.
Some dat were not going far found their way.we were jst three of us left( 3 young girls) finally some police men drove past by. We begged and they agreed to help us.
To cut the story short, God came through for all of us.i reach Calabar around 1:am

  8. I was short of transport back home from work as a trainee in an audit firm, the people I could ask for IOU were not in the office as at closing hours, had to trek from Ketu to Agege, I find it difficult asking strangers for money.

  11. Yes once I had to board a bus even if I didn't have tfair. My plan was to get to the bus stop and have my cousins pay for me, but we were approaching bus stop and cousin said he is still on his way, then Holy spirit mastered to someone sitting beside me and he just asked me, do you have tfair from nowhere o, we haven't even talked all tru the journey and I said no I don't, and that's how he paid for me, and we both laughed.
He took my number and later he told me how he heard a voice saying "pay her transport fair and he was like why?" and he said OK, atleast let me find out first of she has. He did it out of divine direction as he never asked for anything in return, we just became friends.
And tbh he saved me cos my cousin was nowhere to be found, he later, as I was approaching my family house gate that was when the idiot was about leaving the house.
Omo I was glad that day.
