Bakkos town, in Bokkos Local Government Area, is one of the communities where the killings took place.
It was gathered that the district head’s house was razed around 12:30 on Friday.
The women were said to have been angered by the arrest of some members of the community for their alleged involvement in the killings.
An eyewitness told reporters that “the incident began at the police station, where they [the women] expressed their anger over the arrest of some members of the community”.
“After leaving the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, protesting that he was a sellout. A few minutes after reaching the house, they set it ablaze,” the eyewitness added.
However, the violent nature of the protest led to the arrival of soldiers who dispersed the protesting women.
The state police command confirmed the arrest of eight people in connection with the attacks.
In attacks on about 23 villages between December 24, 25 and 26,over 200 people were killed, many others injured and hundreds of houses razed

Deletethis is complicated and serious.
ReplyDeleteso members of same community did this to themselves???
It's a lie don't mind the useless narrative they are trying to pass. Fulani herds men did this. They know that for a fact but can't admit it due to cowardice.
DeleteAs at this very moment bokkos has been inhabited by 45 % Fulani from God knows where.
The plateau people are so divided hence the reason these idiots are getting away with such nonsense.
I pray they wake up soon before they wipe them all out.
The traditional ruler is using this attacks to cash out as the government keeps pumping money to him to give to the affected families. Hand go soon touch am.
This soldiers that came to disperse the women for protesting , where were this soildiers when the killing was going on in the communities?
ReplyDeleteGod help us all in this our country.
Women are not smiling, one cannot blame them especially with the recent pains they all went through
ReplyDeleteExactly. What did the government and security forces do to protect them? This has been a recurring tragedy. They said people should not take up arms, yet leave them continually exposed and unprotected. At this point and with all the insecurity, I won't mind owning my own firearm and learn how to use it very well.
DeleteSweet trouble you are 100 percent correct.
