I am usually wary of watching Nollywood movies, especially the ones Nigerians have hyped, over hyped and hyper hyped!
ReplyDeleteMy wife has been on my case to watch 'Breath Of Life'. She was confident I'd like it. Finally, early hours of this morning, I watched it. I have to say it is a fantastic movie! The story line is refreshing. The cast? Brilliant! But big sha'out to Wale Ojo for a peerless performance.
Abeg, na which part of dis feem been make all of una cry? Nigerians sef! 🙄
I have movies on my system, that I watch over and over (Coming to America, Sister Act, et al). Will I watch 'Breath Of Life' again and again? NO. But it's a really good film.
Up next, 'A Tribe Called Judah'. I pray this one will also be worth the hype.

The fact that a woman decides to wake up at whatever time to cook for her husband is her choice and whether the story is true or not doesn't warrant back and forth. But Nigerian men will always want to prove to Nigerian women that there are women who treat their men better and robe it in their faces by doing pepper them hence escalating the issue on X and donating money they probably don't have. Nigerian women will also want to defend themselves thereby dragging the issue further like they say, no gree for anybody.

There are things you do in your relationship that others may never find interesting but it is what works for you. People forget individual differences and drag issues unnecessarily. But well, others are cashing out from it.

I used to be that guy that foot ALL bills until I met ladies that opened my eyes on how valuable a woman can be.. ladies that gives gifts, bring stuff while coming to visit, send surprise birthday cakes on my birthday etc etc.. now tell me what I should be doing with someone who can't make some sacrifices for me like I do for her..
That's the idea behind her beginning to cook early, she noticed she has been foolish and would lose a good man because of her foolishness if she doesn't make redress, and she did so..

I went ahead to use myself as an example, a girl who is working and can afford these little stuff but is WILLFULLY holding back and expect me to do everything up to the point of transportation fare for her to visit me, airtime, Nail and hair money etc etc and she does nothing, even though she's capable of only proves she's useless and senseless..
I deserve better..

Some women enter public transport with 3 or 4 children on long distance journey boarding only one seat. They expect other passengers to help carry or lap the children and when you don't a case of you don't like children is quickly established. Some of them start looking at you with side eyes. They don't consider the inconvenience to other passengers. They know what they're doing.
ReplyDelete😁 funny but not funny. I guess it's because there's no money to pay for extra seat. You're right on expecting other passengers to help carry the kids and giving side eyes. No one wants to be inconvenienced especially on a long journey. I had that experience once and had to carry one of the kid because the little boy was standing for long and I couldn't even keep my legs well as he was standing in front of me. I just accepted the fact that it was going to be an uncomfortable trip.

If the wife is a full time housewife then she has no excuse not wake up to cook but if she equally works as a professional and the financial burden of running the house is on her and her husband then he has no right to expect she wakes up when he's not crippled considering they both make ends meet in the home he has to pull his weight too at home.

ReplyDeleteSchools in Ibadan resume today. My daughter was very happy and eager to resume school cos I got her a new and bigger school bag to reward her for coming 3rd in class. The Hp power school bag is very fine with all necessary accessories. Bought it for 9k last week. It gladdens my heart when she is happy.

ReplyDeleteThere was a day I was traveling to Ibadan from Oyo, there was a woman with four kids and plenty loads asking me to help her carry one of her kids who was almost eight year old, I bluntly refused because of the inconvenience, she didn't even pay for extra one seat.
My mantra since when I was young is if I'm traveling and I don't have ride, my kids stay home with their dad, I can't be dragging more than two kids in public, and I must make sure I pay for their seat if they're not more than two.
