FOUR BILLION!!!
Willie Obiano, the former governor of Anambra State is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at its headquarters in Abuja in preparation for his arraignment before a Federal High Court on January 24, 2024.

Obiano is facing trial over alleged corruption charges amounting to over ₦4bn brought against him by the Federal Government through the EFCC.

The charges against Obiano include the indirect transfer of funds from the Anambra State Government Security Vote Account into other bank accounts belonging to entities that had no business relationship with the Anambra State Government.
These funds were allegedly used for purposes unrelated to the security affairs of Anambra State. The EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development
