The gunmen had on Christmas Eve invaded the local councils, killed at least 115 villagers and burnt down 17 communities.
The state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who confirmed the number of casualties and the level of destruction in the attack in an interview on Tuesday, said scores of residents are still missing.
Tinubu reacted to the attack in a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The statement said Tinubu has directed security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone, and apprehend the culprits.
The President also directed the immediate mobilisation of relief resources for surviving victims of the attacks as well as medical treatment for the wounded.
While condoling with the government and the people of Plateau, the President assured Nigerians that “the envoys of death, pain, and sorrow would not escape justice”.

ReplyDeleteSadness on the day of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThis thing happens every year and will likely happen again next year if nothing is being done.
ReplyDeleteI think the Army is complicit in all these killings. How can over 100 persons killed without Nigerian troop's intervention that's acclaimed to be the giant and the best in Africa for all the hours the terrorist spent attacking the communities.
Every year the Plateau people keep suffering this ugly fate and the best the government will do is to condemn.
Buhari own was always feeling shocked and now we're seeing another one in power condemning.
After the shock and condemn, what next?
Come to Eastern Nigeria and see contingent of military personnel extorting money from motorist, whereas terrorist are having full day in the middle belt. A working system will deploy those military doing nothing on those Eastern highway and push them to deal with these terrorist but of cause you know that won't happen, it's their cash cow.
Nigeria is one terrible place to live. If not for condition, some of us got nothing to still be doing here.
Nonsense.
Pls no arrest should be made just kill the perpetrators of this dastardly acts on site. This is too much na

This is so disheartening, what has Plateau and Benue people done to those animals that they are always grieving all the time? It has been several years of blood bath in these states yet no solution from government both at state and federal level. Bokkos people are good people for God sake. Ya Allah don't Allow the perpetrators to escape your wrath. May the souls of the departed Rest in Peace.
