Ondo State Gov Akeredolu Hands Over To Deputy To Focus On Ailing Health

The ailing Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, is returning to Germany for further treatment. The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Richard Olatunde, in a statement on Tuesday, said Akeredolu would transmit a letter to the state House of Assembly handing over power to his deputy, Lucy Aiyedatiwa as acting governor.
Here is wishing you total recovery Sir!

    3. Mock Igbos? Hope you are not hallucinating? I'll like you to search the whole Internet and if you find any of my comments mocking the Igbos, then drop it. I'll wait. And if cursing pob, Nnamdi Kanu and criticising Peter Obi is mocking the Igbos, I'll gladly do that 100 times over. Anyone who points out your hypocrisy is mocking you people according to you. So l understand where that comment is coming from 😎

    4. Don't misrepresent facts. He never mocked late President Yaradua's ill health. What he did was to call out the president's handlers since the president had by then become elusive, to tell the president to officially transmit power to the vice President, and also called on the national assembly to invoke the doctrine of necessity.

    1. This man has not addressed the press since returning to Nigeria. Do you think such a principled man, who did hand over before leaving for treatment when his health could handle it, had the capacity to? May God grant us perfect health.

Do you think people like Yar 'Adua would not have insisted on being with his doctors abroad and signing forms from there instead of being stage- managed by aides looking to aid themselves till the day he deteriorated into death? Would a Yar Adua who handed over before not do the same? Do you think the former governor of Taraba state had the capacity to decide to leave hospital before recovery in order to secure the political interests of his followers? The man is dead now and his wife has remarried while his aides are aiding themselves. With some illnesses, the patient is at the mercy of his next of kin and those who wield influence over him.

Akeredolu's grace is that he spoke up during the times when others didn't so it is clear where his principles lie. This is what people relied on to thwart the plans of the users around him. It was clear that he would never endorse the criminality they carried out in his name.

His wife and children have to seriously talk to themselves about how they let themselves be used by these palace players and put the health of their patriarch at the forefront of dealings going forward.

May God grant Aketi complete healing. He is an exceptional governor and true patriot of Nigeria and by God's grace, his legacy of good will endure.
