Criticisims has trailed the reported alleged 1,411 delegates Nigeria reportedly sponsored to the ongoing COP28 climate summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE...

In response to the criticms, the Federal Government has responded and said it was not footing the bills of the 1,411 delegates as COP-28 records put Nigeria’s official figure at 590 and the other 821 as “overflow” participants.
Opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, demanded a roll call and cost incurred by Federal Government delegates at the summit and also urged the National Assembly to probe the incident.

  2. I was wondering when you will post this considering the uproar it's been generating.
This administration may turn out to be the most profligate government Nigerians ever had. Why must Nigeria always leave every international summit or convention with a reputation not for any meaningful contribution to the entire program but for its large entourage?.
I saw the SAs rebuttal that most of the delegates were self sponsored, yinmu, is this not Nigeria, APC Government of patronage?
To think that after all this jamboree, nothing meaningful will be done to improve the abysmal poverty ravaging the land, or tackle the deteriorating security situation in the country

  3. The numbers are outrageous. How do we cut the cost of governance this way? Even the 590 is too much to have gone with not to talk of the over 821 that's been alleged to be 'overflow'.

Is this a jamboree or carnival sort of event?

We need to get it right in this country for Christ sake.

Why not take people that are well grounded in these fields.

They took Airheads that can’t even give a detailed and concise Explanation of the Aforementioned.

  14. This is really despicable! What's the essence of these enormous entourage with so little to show for our attendance over the years?
It's said that power belongs to the people in a democracy but in Nigeria it belongs to a few. Until we take a stand nothing will change.
