In response to the criticms, the Federal Government has responded and said it was not footing the bills of the 1,411 delegates as COP-28 records put Nigeria’s official figure at 590 and the other 821 as “overflow” participants.
Opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, demanded a roll call and cost incurred by Federal Government delegates at the summit and also urged the National Assembly to probe the incident.
I no go put mouth for their matter. They keep doing things like these because they know dodoyos will still defend and support them.
ReplyDelete590 doing what there?
DeleteI was wondering when you will post this considering the uproar it's been generating.
ReplyDeleteThis administration may turn out to be the most profligate government Nigerians ever had. Why must Nigeria always leave every international summit or convention with a reputation not for any meaningful contribution to the entire program but for its large entourage?.
I saw the SAs rebuttal that most of the delegates were self sponsored, yinmu, is this not Nigeria, APC Government of patronage?
To think that after all this jamboree, nothing meaningful will be done to improve the abysmal poverty ravaging the land, or tackle the deteriorating security situation in the country
The numbers are outrageous. How do we cut the cost of governance this way? Even the 590 is too much to have gone with not to talk of the over 821 that's been alleged to be 'overflow'.
ReplyDeleteIs this a jamboree or carnival sort of event?
We need to get it right in this country for Christ sake.
if e go gree you just let them be. me I've washed my hand off Nigerian politics.
Deleteyou'll still see them find a way to justify it.

ReplyDeleteThe common man is experiencing untold hardship while the government waste our commonwealth on frivolities. E no go ever better for these people.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine a summit of this multitude sometimes if you see this extravagant expenditures incurred by govt you cry ,what are they going there to do ,use the money and so something meaningful for your citizens they said no, they call themselves enlightened people in governance
ReplyDeleteWhat's this multitude doing in a summit other countries is that how they go for summit.im tired of this country
Hmmmmmm ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค
ReplyDeleteAnd the worst thing about all this is that Nigeria is not even a proponent or champion of climate change. We wey dey still flare gas for naija delta. We still dey burn tire anyhow anywhr. Most of our green areas are brown yet we spent so much to go do this jamboree.
ReplyDeleteThem go still reach there go ask for loan oh๐๐
DeleteImagine coming with entourage to beg for giveaway ๐
DeleteGOD Dey
DeleteIsn't the number too much? Democracy is truely expensive.
ReplyDeleteThis type being practiced is the ika and akpa version
Delete"This administration must favor me and my family" and you are here asking why they went with such a number.
ReplyDeleteThis country is just a joke honestly.
ReplyDeleteWith the current hardship its citizens are facing, they are going to a summit with such an outrageous delegates, even Toke is amongst.
All this one they're saying that the delegates will foot their bills is just to cover face,is it not Nigeria again.
This country matter is draining aswear.
Both the 590 people and 821 are outrageous, this is waste of resources that could have been put for better use.
ReplyDeleteNa siddon look I dey.

ReplyDeleteWhy not take people that are well grounded in these fields.

This is really despicable! What's the essence of these enormous entourage with so little to show for our attendance over the years?
ReplyDeleteIt's said that power belongs to the people in a democracy but in Nigeria it belongs to a few. Until we take a stand nothing will change.
