The nurse was assigned to care for an elderly patient who was dying, and she was reported for praying for the patient to get better.
The patient was said to have reported the nurse to her relative, who in turn reported to the authorities at the hospital.
The nurse was called in for questioning by the hospital’s leadership and later sacked.
The incident reported on X by one Olufunmilayo has sparked discussions about the appropriateness of imposing personal beliefs on patients in a healthcare setting.
Do your job and Waka go house
ReplyDeleteWow this is serious. Mixing religion with work.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone is same faith as you.
Hope she has learnt her lesson and that includes others.
Learn to mind your business and not to give unsolicited help. The white and black man mentality are two parallel line.
๐๐
ReplyDeleteVery good for her..
Some people don't know the jobs they're employed for,. She'll serve as an example to others.
I know someone here in Nigeria that was sacked for hugging her boss..
The boss was a foreigner, he traveled for awhile, when he came back, she just see an shout run go hug Baba,. Baba just dey look am, him no talk anything, few hours later, she was given sack letter๐๐ she come dey cry dey form victim say na so them go dey treat black like sh!t.. dey play..
Baba no fit shout, before you go accuse am say him press your yansh when you hug am..
Even my cousin was warned many years back by his white boss here in Nigeria when he rush to go carry the man bag for an when he reach office, the man asked him if he was employed to carry his bag for him, and told him the next time he'll near him with all those fake and hypocritical behaviour him go collect sack letter..
Na Nigerian bosses like to surround themselves with sycophants and ass leakers, they no want people wey go tell them truth, they can sack you for not calling them mummy or say you no come carry oga bag as him drop from car..
Nonsense Rubbish
*am
Delete*Lickers
And here one oga dey look me bad eye on top say I no dey help am carry bag anytime she come office.
DeleteTrue talk @ Dantress. Our mentality and their's is totally different. I have learned so much since I set foot in this white man land. I totally mind my business. If you touch person or hug without consent, they would cry sexual harassment on your head.
DeleteAnd it is very possible the patient is one of those that leave specific instructions not to be resuscitated when they enter coma or whatever, they just want to die. So, praying for them to get better would be seen as a very big offense and she may not even be of the same faith as the nurse. We African are so emotional and kind hearted unlike the people here. So, best thing is to mind your business, do the work they sent you to do and go home.
This part of the world don't want to hear God anymore but are cool with anything LGBTQSTUVWXYZ. The world don pkwafuka.
ReplyDeleteWas that what she was employed for?
DeleteWhat are you saying?!
DeleteIn a work environment, certain topics should not be discussed at all, like religion, poilitics, etc. Some naija mentality should be dropped as soon as you leave the shores of the country.
This one na lesson to other people that are more christian than Christ Himself!
Dante or Danteess, there's procedures to this thing. Has she done it before? Has she had a written query? Dis she pulled out his oxygen supply? What's the gravity of the offence? Why so hash! Even if he's got a 'do not resuscitate, did she do anything else to stop his death?
DeleteI am saying yes, she didn't do well, but sacking her is too hash.
Tou need to see the grievous medical mistakes these Caucasians make here, yet no one sacks them.
12:34
DeleteThe cases you mentioned, or you are assuming exist, where they mentioned?
Reported?
Of you like don't take corrections.
It is not any LGBT anything. It's common sense that you should not do some things. They are unethical, this for example.
Imagine you open your eyes to see someone using charms on you, that he/she is a traditionalist and as such asking the gods to grant you healing.
As a Christian who do not practice such, I guess you will shine teeth and sing kumbaya abi.
It is not a race thing, stop the victim card. LEARN.
Hello Dante dear.
"Imagine you open your eyes to see someone using charms on you, that he/she is a traditionalist and as such asking the gods to grant you healing."
DeleteLady, you find this question well o. Knowing what the typical Nigerian christian professing employer/person will do.
Above all, a prayer can be said for a person without him/her hearing or knowing.
It can be speculated that the worker was evangelising.
It's even fake most of the time..
DeleteFor her mind, she feel say the white people go like am for the prayers, them go come dash am money ๐๐
Na them,. Best in pretending and showing fake love๐
13..49
Helo babes,. It's Dantress now๐๐
Wow Dante has transitioned. I always knew he got it in him.
DeleteLo@ transitioned.๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ no wonder why Dante reacts emotionally like a woman! Dantress aka you’re fruity?? Is that what it is dante? Na wa.
DeleteAnon 12:34, the cases you mentioned may not have been reported and another thing is that you mentioned Caucasians. They don't treat Blacks and Caucasians same, and it's not about playing the victim but na reality. Blacks don't get away with what Caucasians get away with, and in UK of all places. If na US, maybe she would've just been issued a warning or so.
DeleteMaybe it’s in the company constitution.
DeleteHmm, so this news is real. I saw it earlier on social media, and thought it was a hoax.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm. She no mind her business
ReplyDeleteThe most complex B
Nigerians can overdo most times.
ReplyDeleteLord Jesus, intervene on her behalf.
ReplyDeleteLord Jesus is busy. There's nothing to intervene.
DeleteHe has already instructed that you follow peace with all men.
Why can't she be peaceful in peace. Assistant Jesus abi angel Raphael.
She will learn.
I feel bad for her sha but it's always good to mind your business
ReplyDeleteTwitter stories ๐. Na who dey believe these guys I dey pity for
ReplyDelete๐
DeleteI dey tell you. What is her name? What is the hospital's name? In which part of UK did it happen?
DeleteTwitter and Facebook stories to get traffic ๐คฃ
๐ you know! No be only sacked and deported
DeleteIt was actually posted by a Nigerian UK doctor.
DeleteIf it was the job that issued you visa, you might have to be deported if you cant get another job within time, and it's not easy getting a new job with such records you know.
Sacked and deported, I hope others will learn from this. Do your work and go home, that's what you're paid for.
ReplyDeleteIt's well
ReplyDeleteVery good, do what you are employed for .
ReplyDeleteWe see them everyday here.
ReplyDelete๐ค๐ค๐ค
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity, her goodness backfired.
ReplyDeleteDoing what she thinks is right ,at the wrong place and time.
ReplyDeleteShe forgot they have laws and can be prosecuted for anything there.
There is a thin line between being religious and being a fanatic. In a corporate environment, some topics shouldn't be discussed since people opinions about them could vary and discussing it could breed a negative environment. Religion is one of that topics.
ReplyDeleteWhy is she praying for the patient instead of doing her job as a nurse??? Is she a Pastor on a housecall or health practitioner that was there to administer treatment to the dying man??? Does that mean she have no trust in her line of work??? And the part that actually get me curious, even if she wants to pray for the patient, why can't it be during her quiet time with God??
God cannot be mocked. You don't set test for God, he is a miracle worker not magician.
Her story reminded me of that man that was eaten alive by lions in Ibadan zoo because he wanted to prove to people that Daniel story in the bible is real. The Daniel wannabe was torn apart by the lions in seconds.
Shipapa shipopo in Tonto voice no enter UK , come home and join Gilead team here jare, you're more useful in the vineyard
ReplyDeleteSame with people who preach inside vehicles. Vehicle filled with people from different religions. One particular one even carried megaphone to preach inside coaster bus, disturbing the hell out of someone. Some will be so close to you and spitting in your face. In their fucking minds, na them love God pass.
ReplyDeleteI saw a video where a woman started singing on a plane and wanted to because it was gospel song. Folks do not realize that their actions are imposing on another person’s ability to have peace. If religion causes one to lose your comportment, logic and empathy it should be dropped. Religion if done right is supposed to be making you a better person, if it is making you worse than you were before you took it up then flee from it.
Deleteomo
ReplyDeleteThis is not good ooo
ReplyDeleteDeporting her
Haba she could have just be warned nahhh
Lord Jesus intervene on her behalf oooo๐๐๐๐
NAIJA Mentality and Abroad Mentality are like two parallel line.
ReplyDeleteThe Best thing is to drop NAIJA and Re-Learn the Abroad Culture.
Mind the Business that Pays you ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ
The story sounds hmmmm. If she even lost her job how did deportation get involved. But who taught ppl that you had to speak out prayers or touch someone, you can pray silently and without touching someone. Ppl need to learn from God’s nature, God does not disturb anyone, same way we should not be disturbing others with our beliefs and practices. On top of it, death is everyone’s inheritance in life, many ppl have come to terms with it and are looking forward to it. Praying for someone to live when they may be looking forward to their death is an intrusion.
ReplyDeleteI do not like proselytizing. The easiest way to win souls is through the life you live and the inner peace you exude. When ppl see the divine spirit on you they will want what you have and seek for it.
Hmmmmmmmm.
DeleteExactly! I have many oyibo who report to me. There is no day someone doesn’t come to me to share their issues and ask me how “I do it”. They see something in me that even I can’t see in myself.
DeleteI always respond telling them I read YouVersion app everyday and meditate with the meditation music there.
Now YouVersion app is a bible app, with devotionals, plans, sermons etc. if them wan catch fire there, it’s up to them. Some will say they will try it and others will say they will do meditation too. But I never ask them how it went. If they have feedback they would come to me. If not, then so be it. I have done my part by answering question. Period.
Fictional hypothetical imaginations Twitter Naija folks publish to trend. From praying for someone to deportation! How? These folks forget that Naija university students used to go to UK for summer breaks back in the day and are talking of England as if we started going there. The worst is to get written up, after several warnings you may be fired in the US but there are procedures for deportation!
DeleteChai I feel sorry for her.
ReplyDeleteShe should have prayed for the patient in her quite time at home,God hears anywhere. Like me here,if anyone here post a comment that touches me,I put the person in my prayers and I believe God will intervene. It is well with her.
Or pray for the person in her mind without speaking it out or touching her.
DeleteNow see what she did to herself.
Thank God for stories like this, abroad hopefuls like us are learning ๐
She must be team "what God cannot do does not exist", she accry her Nigerian mentality enter UK. I hope others learn.
ReplyDeleteReally, as per the spirit you be, you know its Nsppd abi? You must connect it to it just to downplay Nsppd. Dey play...
DeleteWished she did it in private oh, so sad.
ReplyDeleteMinding your business pays outside naija
ReplyDeleteThere are certain topics you shouldn’t bring up at work especially if you are in the abroad: money, religion, politics and sometimes sexual orientation. I just avoid them so HR doesn’t call me for a meeting. I can’t shout abeg.
ReplyDeleteDon't even know what to say about this kind story.๐ณ๐ค
ReplyDeleteWhen you get deeper in Christ one attribute.is sure.. emperthy.
ReplyDeleteDantress, you must be a terrible person, based on your comment" it serves her right" really?
ReplyDeleteOkay
DeleteI feel bad for her
ReplyDeleteIt's well
Speechless
ReplyDeleteShe thinks say na Nigeria she dey.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anyone saying she is a Martyr for Christiandom... In the last 11months , most Christians are just not behaving like Christians of before before.
ReplyDeleteThey for beat am join. The few remaining functional cells in Nigerians' brains have been occupied by religion. Very annoying set of people
