ReplyDeleteThe general idea now is to cut costs as much as possible. I got quite a shock recently to find out that my colleague, a medical doctor took his own to what to me appears to be extreme. He has banned eggs and meat in his home. Imagine paying him a random visit and meeting his kids eating indomie without eggs. I didn't think much of it but my wife interacted with his wife and gathered that Oga had stopped buying eggs and meat so as to save cost. I know for a fact money wasn't really his problem. So I found that strange. But to each his own. Costs must be cut.
My wife used a rather novel and commendable approach in our christmas chicken. By Christmas week, most broilers may go for around 8k to 12k. To go ahead of that, she got 4 weeks birds at 1700 each and bought a bag of feed a month ago. If you see the birds now eh? 15k I no go sell one. We saved cost in that aspect.
Another thing we did was joining a group where we pulled resources together and bought rice, g/oil and flour in bulk. Of course the items won't be exhausted during Christmas. So we have a nice cushion going into the new year.
There will be no traveling this year. That expense isn't necessary. DSTV will only be renewed in the week if Christmas. January, we go back to FTA.
Already as a designer, I can work from anywhere with my laptop. So I don't need the overhead of an office. I'm trying to get her to move her business more on line. It gives minimal overhead and a wider reach.
There are other ways we've cut costs but still give our kids the desired comfort. It is all about them now.
The times call for wisdom and out of box thinking. But costs must be cut o! The naira isn't what it used to be.

There is this teenage girl in my neighborhood that was beaten black and blue very pretty girl oo, she was caught stealing. After thorough beating she confessed that she duplicates some people's keys and usually opens their houses in their absence to steal their money. She was beaten naked before taking her to the police station. I heard she was later released after her mother refunded some people's of the money She stole while some left the money coz they really pity the mother.

My boss summoned him today and the guy boldly told our boss that he is under spiritual attack. Laff wan wound me for where I stand.

It's getting scary. I just finished eating jollof and chicken but still went to chew garri. Now my stomach feels weird. Dear God, you have to deliver me on this, please. Thank you.
Eating dry ijebu garri after eating a full meal is a sign of iron deficiency. I was always craving ijebu garri, ice block and charcoal, not knowing I had multiple fibroids with heavy bleeding.

ReplyDeleteHow do people that play bet naija sleep at night. A close relative's husband is addicted to betting. This man has refused to do anything rather stay all day calculating how much he will make through betting with his children's feeding money. His wife dare not keep money at home. He will steal it and use it for betting. The annoying part is that his mum sees nothing wrong in what his son is doing instead he is always quarrelling with the innocent wife of not being a submissive wife because she is the breadwinner. Some mothers need to do more.

No family person should be a gambling addict. Betting the children’s feeding money and having no savings in case of an emergency is not cool. Plus, the changes of winning anything situs slim to none. Betting is a business and the business survives by making a profit and the only way to make a profit is by taking in at least twice what you are spending. Gambling addicts need professional help and that enabling mother is ridiculous. She likely thinks it is not an issue because it is drugs, alcohol or porn, it’s the same addiction.
