Stella Nwannem,  come and see the goodness of God upon my life, devil had planned to disgrace me but God sure turned it around for my good.

I am a very bad cook especially in things like stew, fried rice and all those medes medes kind of food, but you see native foods, agbara mu first in it, maybe because that's the kind of food I was raised with. 

I was expecting some friends from the church on Sunday (my prayer group) ,  I was supposed to feed them, I bought things on Saturday , on Sunday morning,  my daughter who makes nice stew decided to turn to snail on top small clothes wey she de wash, so I decided to cook, 

Stella I did everything I usually see my daughter do during the cooking ooo, I put curry nke na acha yellow,  I put that dry leaf (bay leaf) plenty of it,

After cooking, I decided to taste this stew, this stew looked so nice but the slap it gave me was out of this world,  and it was almost time,  my visitors were close, so I quickly boiled rice, carpenter kujooo ntu,  okpoo ya style,  so I decided to back up the cooking with my mouth, I went and bought green vegetables,  sliced and boiled, 

They finally came, we enter prayers, as we were praying,  na so inspiration enter me kpawaiii,  I grabbed it, so when it was time to eat, I told them  that cos of fat from the meat and vegetable oil, I added lime water, to help eradicate the fatty oil, you needed to see my face, my daughter opened her eyes wide like she wanted to say something,  I match her leg,

Na so them start to de chop the food ooo, thank God for the vegetable,  they finished the 10 cups of rice I managed to buy, everybody was like, this food is so rich, body come de sweet me.

This morning,  our junior pastor called me and said it's about that your food, my mind fly whiim,  I said, what about it sir, he said he enjoyed it, even though he pooed a lot afterwards but he believes it cos of the vegetables  (Oga na lie, na maggi mtchewwww), my daughter laughed till she fell on the floor....

Pastor said he wants me to teach his wife the style,  that he's tired of getting fat and feeling bloated after eating her stew, lee nu mu!!! Who am I that God has elevated to teach the world  how to cook stew, I feel so special,  my daughter said I should not go, or she must go with me to avoid disgrace (that girl is too full of herself in this small food wey she sabi pass me) , why do she want to share in my shine, in my rise to stardom..

Anyhuuuu a part of me is telling me not to go ooo, should I open up to them? My daughter said the tomatoes is not dried hence the slapping,  should I tell them?? Chaii body de sweet me abeg

Hahahaahahahahahahahahahaha me wey no come sabi cook stew nah wah

INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

One thing I try my best not to do is yell/ scream or shout at my kids, I practice gentle/ intentional parenting. It's a common knowledge that in this form of parenting, raising your voice at your kids is frowned upon.

It’s not just about the volume or tone of voice, it’s about respecting your children, seeing them as individuals with valid feelings and helping them walk through life with the utmost sense of self respect and value.

I had been working hard at this but with the crankiness of pregnancy and a new born in the mix, I keep acting out my frustration and I have been shouting a lot.
Few days ago my first son was shouting at his younger brother and was talking to him in a mean way. I called him to have a talk and went on to lecture him about respecting other people.

This boy looked at me with pain in his eyes and said “ but mom that’s how you talk to us when you are angry”. It hit me hard because it shows how badly I have fallen of the wagon.
I apologised profusely and promised to do better, I had to pray to God to help me because it has not been easy keeping myself in check while dealing with strong willed boys.

I have tried since then with just few slip ups. I know I can’t be perfect but I want to be better for my kids. I really want to raise them right. I don’t want to be referred to as “shouting mummy “.

DEY PLAY!!!!... you wont shout at your kids?The next shout is loading!...lol

I hate what I don't like
I don't know why some people are so wicked and heartless. Why do people you know tend to become your business enemy? Why gan gan?

There is this man who stays close to my before before house(make una translate am una sef). He came to my shop yesterday and wanted to withdraw 20k and not only that, he wants to send that same money to someone else's account. Meaning, I have to withdraw the money first from his account(Note: charges is #400) then send the same money to another account and it happens to be a church account (Note: to send the money is another #400). 

So, instead of charging him #800 for all the transactions, I asked him to pay #600 but when I saw his reaction, I told him to pay #500 and also made him understand that, I'm just doing that for him but wetin baba gave me as response gan make me para.

The man was like, "don't tell me you are just doing it for me, it's too much and I can't pay #500". I was so surprised then asked him how much he wants to pay(not because I'm ready to do it lesser than #500 but because I wanted him to say nonsense). Then he said he can't pay more than #300. I told him outrightly that, I can't do it lesser than that then he said "I dey do like say I no Sabi am that, am I even suppose to collect money from him". I said to myself "weyre, na you open shop for me" then I asked him if he will renew my rent for me once it's time to renew my rent? Then baba said "Orie e ni o pe. I replied him immediately because he was about moving, I said " laye yin sir, ema so be mo. Mo fi eleyi se bonus fun yin ni ooo.

He thought I was joking then he moved closer saying, he will slap me.i just laugh komot from the weyre side and went into my shop to sit down and patiently waiting for him to enter the shop and slap me there in order for me to know what to do to him. He was outside bragging and I ignored him. When he was done, he left and a guy whose kiosk was adjacent my shop(he is also into POS business) passed by and told me to be careful of that man that he did the same to him some days ago. He came to his place and wants to withdraw 8k with #50, claiming that's what he pays and he asked him to go to where they collect such amount but baba change am for am.

But sincerely, I left him and went into my shop because I never wanted him to slap me because if the man slap me, I no go fit return the slap due to his age and I might injure him and get myself into trouble , so, I had to just use wisdom because some people are just frustrated and can push you to do things that can make one go to jail. The best is to avoid them, most especially now that the year is going to an end.
