George stated that some people within the party pretend as if they are working for the party, but in reality, they are looking for aspirants with Automated Teller Machine (ATM), implying that they are more interested in personal gain. He gave an example of how people who don’t live in Lagos were sent to conduct primaries, and rather than allowing people to vote, they were looking for the aspirants and they become their ATM.
To address these issues and pave the way forward for the PDP, George called for the constitution of a reconciliation committee. He stressed the importance of conducting a thorough review of the party’s experiences in each state during the 2023 elections.

ReplyDeleteBut he was one of the elders of the party who turned a blind eye to the blatant breach of the party's constitution by allowing Atiku to vie for the presidency, knowing fully well it was supposed to be the turn of South. When asked why they did this on Arise TV, his response was that Atiku had already spent so much money on lobbying, that they just felt he should be allowed to vie. So he has no moral right to cast aspersions on any one or body for their loss in the last election. Their greed, and selfishness, was their undoing.
