Nigeria's Falconets Defeats Tanzania In The U-20 WWCQ 2024 Qualifying Match

Nigeria’s Falconets are through to the playoff round of the 2024 FIFA women’s World Cup qualifiers.


The Falconets won 2-1 to advance 3-2 on aggregate in Sunday's third round, second leg tie match against Tanzania at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja.
Janet Akekoromowei netted in the first goal of the match for the Falconets to make way for them to be on the lead in the 20th minute but Jamila Rajani Mnunduka made it 1-1 in the 25th minute.

Comfort Folorunsho put the Falconets 2-1 ahead in the 60th minute which turned out to be the winner.
The Falconets will now go head to head with Burundi in the final qualifying round with the winner taking up one of the four tickets to the World Cup in Columbia.
