Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

 Hmmmmm

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
WRONG OR RIGHT

I work for someone( work twice a week, 4.hours per day) and she sometimes forgets to pay me. She's an extremely busy woman and a politician's wife and I totally understand she might not remember.I had to call her to remind her a couple of times that I have not been paid and she'll scream at me while saying she does not owe her workers and the last time I called to remind her, she asked me to make sure I call her to remind her if she defaults.

To cut the long story short, she has not paid me for last month and I called her Friday last week to remind her, she did not pick. I left her over the weekend and called her on Monday and she flared up that she does not owe workers that infact she won't pay me that she always pay her workers on the 27th and why have I not contacted her since then. To be sincere, I never knew she pays on the 27th as I just get my salary and move on and have never taken note of the date.

What made me shed tears was when she banged the phone on me. Lord!!! It broke my heart. All the fees my dad paid for me to graduate from a Private Uni and all I can settle for is this 20k+ 2000 transport fare job
I am a very emotional person and words get to me easily. I've been feeling bad since on Monday and yes, true to her words she still has not paid me.

Pls bvs my question is I'm I at fault in anyway?

I have a business I'm managing thanks to Angel Koof. Just needed the extra funds as sometimes business can be slow. I've been surviving with my business profit and I'm not even an extravagant person.

Forgive my rant. Just needed to pour my mind out.

WTF...Please resign and dont slave for anyone free of charge!!! What kind of wicked behaviour is? If she has dementia then she should put someone else in charge of paying her salary...You are not sure if getting the next one too cos she can also claim she paid you...

Maybe if you threaten to resign, she will pay you..Or she wont....

  3. I tell my staff to remind me their salary dates,I hate to owe salaries,it annoys me. This month I had to pay 2 days before due date before I forget.
She has told you to remind her,do well to remind her before the due date and on the due date, you confirmed she is busy. I didn't want to do the bank setting that pays people each month because someone can stop working for me and i may not remember to change settings. Reminding her after due date is slack on your part.
If you want giveaway money open mouth talk am,no body go beat you. I see what you did there.
    Take care.

    1. It's uncomfortable to remind an employer to pay salary every month, you don't need to remind them to come to the office on a daily basis. Please outsource your HR if you can't remember the dates or pay everyone on the same date.

  9. Stop working for her!! Keep managing your business and if you have time, learn a skill.
I can never accept any kind of insult from an employer, maybe that’s why I chose to be my boss.
If that your boss isn’t mad, did she have to insult you? Make sure she pays what she owns you and stop working for her. If you have to drink garri, by all means do that. Cos such insults/embarrassments affects your esteem and mental health.
    Find a skill and learn.

  15. You’ve been working and you didn’t notice the date she normally pays you? Even if it’s hand payment, by now you would have noticed the pattern, talk more of alerts from banks. Pls i call bull shit!
Again, this is becoming a pattern on this blog, this chronicle looks exactly like the one of yesterday, pls you ppl should take it easy with the employment sob stories pls, don’t abuse the kindness please.
My 2 cents. Those that would come and say it is not my blog, i know it is not mine but i am a BV, and my comments should also count.

    1. Almost made this same comment on yesterday's chronicle, but I didn't want to sound overly suspicious, and I'm not the owner of the blog. You don't know the date your employer pay you, like how? For yesterday's chronicle, your mum is paid 8k monthly, some Nigerian private school owners might be wicked, but that is too low, even the cleaner that cleans my former compound, twice or sometimes thrice a week is paid 15k monthly, and that was few years ago.

Anyways, if your story is true, please remind her via text, and keep the evidence, and also try and update yourself with important details like your salary dates.

    2. I’m with you in this
No one told me at work but I know they pay in Thursday. I observed that’s when it hits

Poster just tell madam you are sorry you thought she had forgotten but it turns out it wasn’t time to pay

    3. So if salary is usually paid on a certain day, and one didn't get one's on the said date, it's one's fault. You people will not cease to amaze me. Something like this once happened to me and I complained after two days of not receiving my salary. They scolded me for being impatient and told me that payment was still ongoing. It happened another time and I didn't complain until after some days. After a week, I filed a complaint and they told me I should have complained earlier. You can never please anyone who is hellbent on finding fault with everything you do.

Poster, you may have to relocate to another state. If you stay too long in a particular state and things aren't working out for you, please, relocate to another state.

    4. Binam your situation is not sane abeg. You are asking them after the date. She is saying she didn’t know the woman pays on the 27th and asked before. How’s that same thing as yours Biko?

Someone like me won't even take note of the payment dates whether it comes through bank transfer or by cash at hand .

Poster sent in her story because yesterday's chronicle reminded her of her own challenge which is similar to yesterday's chronicle. I don't see anything bad there.

  17. Before walk away from that job you should still reach out to her so that you can collect money for the one you have already worked for her. If you can her just be calm and apologize for not knowing that she usually pay every 27th. Tell her you have take corrections and will call her on 28th of every month if you don't get paid on 27th.

If she refused to pay you with all your pleading, just let her be and hand her over to God. That 22k I'd small money with the current economy but it can also take care of some stuffs for you, the stress of getting it is crazy.

If you collect your money please do not go to that work for the supposed date and see if she will reach out to you or not.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Walk away once an employer does not pay you. Don't let the arrears accumulate. It's a different thing if the employer encountered issues with completing the transaction and pleaded that you give him/her some days to resolve the issue. Its not your job to remind her that you need to be paid. If she pays on the 27th, why didn't she include your name to the list? I set up auto deposit for my helps so their salary gets paid without stress. It's a sin to owe your workers their wages. If you can't afford to pay, or don't like their work, let them go instead of forming amnesia and shouting on them when they ask for their salary. Some people like taking undue advantage of others in 9ja. Will she try that nonsense outside?

  19. It's an unfortunate position to be employed under an uncaring or wicked boss. Such bosses don't care about how you survive. How can somebody work for you and you play with their earnings. I'm just coming from yesterday's chronicle. That proprietress doesn't deserve to be placed in charge of children. She needs to be taught a lesson also.

  20. You were not wrong to demand for your pay,So sad cos alot of people go through all these where they work.It is that bad.

  21. To me, this is a criminal act, your boss is very wicked and manipulative in nature. This type of people are too selfish. They will never remember that they owe you., they will always forget to pay you šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Don't bother calling her, she will eat the money and get tired.

  22. Obviously, she does not keep records, she needs a bookkeeper to manage her books. If she normally pays by money transfer then show her your banking record that no money hit your account. If she pays cash then that is impossible to prove she didn’t pay you. Figure out how to use this work situation to your advantage, be cool. Since you have experience working for a small vip, it could be a future business you could enter if you chose to use this contact as a recommendation. See how you can make lemonade out of these lemons.

Regina, I hope you are not the politician’s wife in this story. You look like the type to have memory problems.

    1. She should be the one to check her account to verify if she paid the poster or not. If she made the mistake of paying someone twice or sent the money to the wrong account number, checking her transfer history would resolve it faster than asking poster to present her bank statement. Her employer has no business knowing how much she has in her bank account.
