TOPIC: THE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY
MEMORISE:
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1 Timothy 6:17
READ: 1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19 (KJV)
17. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18. That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19. Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
MESSAGE:
One of the major benefits of being a child of God is prosperity. Deuteronomy 8:18 says that God gives us the power to get wealth. In 3 John 2, He says clearly: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."
One thing is clear from these Scriptures: God wants us to be prosperous. 2 Corinthians 8:9 even says that Jesus became poor so that we can be rich. The question now is: why does God want His children to prosper?
Firstly, no father would want his children to suffer. His children suffering would make him look like an irresponsible father. God wants you to prosper simply because you are His child. Psalm 128:1-2 backs this up: "Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee."
After you have become prosperous however, God wants you to use that wealth to build His Kingdom. Zechariah 1:17 said: "Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem."
After God has prospered you, He expects you to use that prosperity to spread the gospel of His Kingdom abroad. He expects you to do things to advance His kingdom on earth and win more souls for Him. This means that if you are prosperous and not sponsoring Kingdom projects, then you need to have a change of mind. You need to be more concerned about using your money for God than for any other thing.
David wondered how he could be living in a palace, when his God is being worshipped in a tent (2 Samuel 7:2). This made him set out to build a temple for God. He was so determined to spend for God that even when God told him not to build the temple, he did not keep his money to himself; rather, he provided everything that Solomon needed to build it. If you have this kind of heart, you would see how God will promote and bless you even more than you can imagine.
KEY POINT:
God prospers His children so that they can use the prosperity to spread the gospel of Christ abroad.

ReplyDeleteGetting a standard apartment here in Port Harcourt is very expensive and close to a million naira in all settlement. Those who were opportune to have built their own home may not really understand the stress and trauma some of us passed through while looking for accommodation. The ordeal I went through looking for an apartment the 'little money' I have can afford will be a story for another day.
When I couldn't get accommodation in the choice area of Port Harcourt due to the prices involved, one of the many agents I had contacted took me somewhere out of Port Harcourt City. Houses there are price friendly but then it's not where I would have loved to stay due to transportation coming out to town is a thousand five hundred naira(N1,500 to and fro) I had no choice but to manage for the time.
When I moved in there, I prayed to God to bless me so I won't have to pay another rent here at its expiration but move back to Port Harcourt City where I have business doing.
The agent who brought me here told me something that's beginning to look like a truth. He said I should hold my 'johnny' very well, that in this area it's women that chases men, spend on men and love gbola so much once they see you are very handsome, single and responsible.
I think women are populated here more than men with what I have seen so far. Thick and curvy women are rampant here with slim beautiful women that are handful.

Early last week I ate at a restaurant. This mature lady that owns the eatery kept staring at me stylishly as I was eating. At a point I wanted to ask if there is a problem but I kept mute. When I'm done, I made payment and was about to leave when she asked me if I'm new here. I answered yes. She smiled and said welcome. She told me to feel free that the community is calm, peaceful and accommodating which is very true going by what I have seen these two weeks I have been here.
On Saturday made it the second time I went there to eat. I noticed she had heaped the food on the bowl. I asked her how much is this? That it's much. She said I shouldn't worry it's for the same price.
After eating, I gave her money and she declined. She said I should keep it with a smile. I asked why? She said it's her own little way of welcoming me. She went further to ask the exact place I'm living. I told her the area but didn't give the address. She said I'm always welcome here to eat at anytime. I still insisted of her taking the money but to no avail. She said when I come again she will collect but not today.
So I left with the money.
Yesterday, I refused going there but somewhere else and I have also decided to stock my kitchen once I have the funds so I will be cooking at home and stop eating out. I don't know her intention but her gaze looked seducing before someone jazz my food and take control over me.
The truth is that my look and height makes people admire me. Yes, I'm that handsome and lovely to behold. Na just money remain to complete the combo😁😁😁
Again, my female neighbor always giving me this calm smile while greeting me each time I'm about going out in the morning. Indeed, they're accommodating and loving I see.
It's alright.

ReplyDeletePls, I noticed my son(he is 6 yrs old) is very good when it comes to calculation, quantitative and maths.. just explain one or two examples to him and he will do d remaining ones with less supervision...but when it comes to reading, he cannot read very well...he struggles to pronounce words.
His aunty complained about same thing in his communication book dat "no reading skill".I felt so sad when I read it...And to think he does extra lesson in school till 4pm cos d school closes by 2:30pm..
Is it advisable to get him another home tutor dat will take him from maybe 4:30 to 6pm?...though it might be 3times a week.
He is 6 years and in primary 2
I don't know how this sounds . If you can get a good home tutor for him, it will be better and if you have enough, let him continue with the school lesson and also have an home tutor.
DeleteAlso, don't forget that, his brain don't have to be too occupied. Literacy and Numeracy alone doesn't guarantee success.. What I mean here is, children should have time to relax their brain and not stressing the brain for them.
Individual differences can also be considered
Get him queen primer and short story books like Janet and John(part1and 2) etc.Read along with him at home, when he sees a long word,teach him to first break in syllables before pronouncing at once.

I think the lesson is enough,you and his teachers should work on him.

Get him a lesson teacher with Montessori skills for home lessons. After a term, he would pick up.
What I noticed about people is that if you are good in calculation, you'll struggle with literature/English and vice versa. That may be the case with your son.
DeleteI think you should take it easy with him. With time, he'll learn how to read. Getting an extra lesson teacher, you may end up stressing his brain cos that'll be like keeping him with bookwork from morning till about 6pm. Pls allow the boy breathe.

I sell snacks(chinchin and peanuts).I've not been able to get the chinchin cutter because of the everyday rising cost of raw materials. My hand don suffer and I get really easily exhausted having to knead, smoothen and cut with my hands. It makes me not to do so much at a time.
