Pressure and temptation is one of the tools devil uses to activate his hold on you, but when you resist it, he will flee james 1:12, the devil knows that at the end of his temptation when you prevail, you shall receive a reward, so he will try to fight you.
Establish your heart, to heavenly principles and concepts, when your heart is set on worldliness you might not be too patient with God, you will hunger for a sharp sharp or quick solution.
While you are waiting for answers and results let your heart be set in christ, for he cometh soon. James 5:8
In verse 10 of james 5 you are advised to take as an example the prophets who suffered and was patient too.
Endure, have PATIENCE, keep believing even if you are not seeing results.
Don't let your heart shake, God has promised to do it, he can never fail or go back on his words.

TOPIC: REDEEMED FROM THE CLAIMS OF THE ENEMY
SCRIPTURE: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ… 1 PETER 1:18-19.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We are God’s creature, and we belong to Him.
Many years ago, I heard the story of a fisherman who took his time to create a little boat, carved it very well the way he wanted it. He was using the precious little boat with all pleasure and would anchor the boat on the seashore after use.
One day, a strong wind came, cut the anchor, and the little boat was lost in the sea.
Another fisherman saw the little boat somewhere, harvested and sold it. Then someone bought it, displayed it in his shop for sale. The owner of the little boat was looking for it. It was not that he could not make another boat, but he had a special attachment to the little boat. Suddenly, he heard that a boat that looked like his boat was put up for sale in a shop.
When he got to that shop, he saw his little boat, recognized it, and told the boat seller that he was the owner of the boat, and that it got lost. The man told him, “I am sorry! I know it is possible that it is yours, but I bought it from someone. If you can pay me the money, you will get it back.”
They agreed, he told the boat seller not to sell it to any other person that he was coming back to buy it. The man went and laboured until he was able to gather enough money to buy back the boat. Then he returned, bought back the boat, and carried it with so much excitement. He said to the boat, “Little boat! Little boat! I now own you twice. First, I created you and now, I have bought you.” What an inspiring story!
Beloved, God is our owner twice: He first created us in His image, but we got hopelessly lost in sin, and in the things of this life. Then He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, and bought us back to Himself (1Corinthians 6:20).
So, we are God’s Creature, and we belong to Him. He created us, then, He redeemed us. So, the devil cannot have any claim over you. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary was God’s rescue operation from all claims of the enemy on man. You owe the devil nothing!
REMEMBER THIS: We are God’s creature, and we belong to Him.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Violently reject any form of claim that the devil is trying to lay on your life.
2. Refuse to hearken to the dictates of the flesh.
3. Refuse to compromise with the systems of the world.

DeleteReflection for 5th of October, 2023. Thursday. Twenty-Sixth Week in Ordinary Time. Nehemiah 8:1-4a,5-6,7b-12. Psalm 19:8,9,10,11. Luke 10:1-12.
ReplyDeleteThe word of God is active and alive, sharper than two edge swords. This is what the Letter to the Hebrews tells us about God's word. We heard in our first reading the effect of God's word when Ezra, the priest, read the law of God to the hearing of the people of Israel.
As Nehemiah, Ezra, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, "This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep." For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law" (Neh.8:9). From the foregoing, it becomes explicit that a paramount place must be given to God's word in our lives. The question therefore is; how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? (Rom.10:14-15).
Jesus, in today's Gospel, gave an answer to the above question: When He appointed seventy others and sent them out two by two to preach the Gospel.
Every baptised Christian has been chosen and commissioned like the seventy disciples to preach the Gospel. In what way are we responding to our callings? Our callings to proclaim the Gospel is not an easy one. It is like swimming against the tide. We are going to be an endangered species. However, we must be courageous in doing God's work. Our mission does not entertain distractions of materialism or "greeting ministry." It requires great humility and contentment to remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide (Luke 10:7).
When we preach God's word faithfully, people's hearts will be touched and they will repent and have a change of attitude positively as it happened when Ezra read God's law to the people of Israel in the first reading.
May God's words that we hear bear fruits that will endure for our eternal salvation through Christ our Lord. Amen.
