If your hands no fit tear am, what of scissors or blade?πŸ™„πŸ™„.. always talking trash and never respecting his old age..

Just like Reno, always talking from both sides of their mouths.. men that their words are not bounds. Dishonourable men..

Whether your result is forged or not is not my business, sha don't submit forged documents to inec if you want to contest electoral office, that's when it'll become my personal business

    2. I can't bare to see this man spoken to or about in this manner! HOW DID HE GET HERE?! Honor he built over a life time, all the accolades, respect, love, reverence he acquired all melted away on the alter of BAT! I wish he was rather neutral but Kai!πŸ’”. How long does he have to repair this magnitude of damage?! Maybe that has always been the material he's always been made of and under pressure spewed his true content. Chai!

    3. He has not lost the respect from lucid logical people who have not turned politics to a religion.

He has not lost any form of respect from those who see the comments above as ooze from those who have no background of repute and no achievement to list. Those who drum their fingers on their Tecno phones to spew nonsense about a man of greatness because they have no one in their own lineage with a feat nearing a tenth of what this man has achieved.

You should know, Sapphire, that content of thought betrays character to a certain extent. There are regular visitors to this blog who cannot but be averse to excellent achievement because they have opted out of this in their own existence.

    4. Having read widely, I still don't understand how his works won the Nobel prize, given the high quality of African authors available at the time.
He wouldn't even make the list of top 20 African authors so I don't understand what the reverence is about. It's just hype.
For anyone that feels otherwise, start your post by naming the title of ONE book he authored that you enjoyed reading.

  4. It’s sad that recent politics is making ignorant youths drag an accomplished man, a principled man, the only Nobel Laurate in Nigeria so far in the mud. WS is not the mate even of the generation of the parents of many dragging him, he taught the likes of Sola Sobowale, Kunle Bamtefa, and the big names in acting who are TRAINED. That he objected to the vitriol and negativity online during the election should not make some throw their manners away.

Soyinka went to jail for believing in a nation he did not come from, rejected appointments that many became millionaires from, etc rarely do you find such principled Nigerians. Soyinka could have been a $billionaire, Fela’s cousin, the old moneyed Abeokuta Nigerians (first high school, first set of educated Nigerians) but he rejected bribes during all the military regimes. That was the most dangerous era in Nigeria. He may have a soft spot for Tinubu due to their joint struggles during NADECO June 12 actualization fight days when they all disguised to escape assassination by Abacha but Kongi is still the same man, a principled man who lives off the $1m he got as Nobel winner over 20 years ago and the pension UI used to have in UK for senior officials (in £) back then. If for nothing else please respect WS for his time in Jail for supporting Biafra, helping fight for democracy though I’m sure he sees Tinubu is not who we all thought he was. Africans don’t drag elders in the mud. He earned his place in history and I wish he would even not respond to the ignorant youths who drag their heroes while hailing murderers & looters.

    1. Okay, I get am before no be property..

Or are you saying if I decide to be very foolish today, my past wisdom would exonerate my today's foolishness?

That I was a police yesterday catching thieves, if I become a thief today, should I not be arrested because I was once a police?

Tinubu claim to have fought for our democracy, would that justify anyone stealing of mandate?

David that is doing great in journalism today, of tomorrow he begins to mess up, you think we won't call him out?

    4. 15:36, people cannot give what they don't have. Look at those who from their crevices of no consequence, aim to disparage a man whose occiput they are too far behind to see. Where are they going to find the respect with which to respect him?

They are doing their best with their deficiencies in instruction and character. Ko wopo ninu ologo to maa n Binu ologo.

  5. WS is NOT “I get am before” or whatever you call him. I do not intend to join words going to 60 years old with you but the riff raffs abusing WS praise Obi Cubana, E Money, musicians like David, Wiz, PO, Tinubu, Atiku etc! How did Emoney get money? You really think he has more WEALTH than many quiet people? Some of you praise your oppressors or their cronies for lack of depth but just as I will never join in abusing Achebe, Zik, Awolowo etc I question the upbringing and level of education of those abusing WS because of his lack of OPEN support for PO. I say open because what you see is not always what is real in Nigeria. FYI, with the questionable money some have, WS invested his $1m Nobel win, got £ gratuity as an old UI prof and is CONTENTED, the major thing lacking in many Nigerians.

If WS wanted to be a $ billionaire via corruption like ALL your politicians he would have been. IBB alone would have given WS, Tai Solarin, JP Clark, Ndubuisi, Gani Fawehinmi $1bn each were they like today’s folks! WS is not in the class of Tinubu or Atiku or PO. Never repay good with evil, go read the Bible. He must regret spending close to 3 years of his 30s in prison for Biafra and losing his close friend Victor Banjo whom Ojukwu executed to the cause he supported considering those dragging him are mostly those whose future he fought for. Common sense is not exactly common and most of these recent Naija sayings are bereft of common sense. WS is old money, wealth across generations, he is a Kuti maternally so go figure. Some of us had parents/parents in-laws using Mercedes S-Classes as far back as the 70s, spent all summer breaks abroad since (no visa needed at the time) & are doing very well both here & in Nigeria. You really think the wealth disappeared because they make no noise on Sm & don’t step on money at parties to show off? That is CLASS. There is money & there is CLASS.

Btw I actually see some sense in a few of your points on females of today billing men because I grew up with likes of late Prof Bolanle Awe, Alele Williams and our professional Moms working hard to build homes with our dads until the economy turned some naija women into “accounts payable departments”. A lot of your write up needs enlightenment & reeks of pure misogyny, I think you are a good person though. No offense but we respect elders in Africa & NO Nigerian alive commands respect in intellectual global circles like WS regardless of insults from folks that have forgotten their manners✌🏾

    1. Lol..

Bros, try dey channel your write up to the right direction..

I have NEVER hailed those people with questionable source of wealth.. Not yesterday, Today or Forever.. but online and offline..

So if you want to counter me, please do so with facts..

Baba dey fvck up, he used to be respected when he was respecting himself, but now, I'm sorry sir..

      He fell off big time..

Whether old or young, life is guided by cause and effect, actions would always have consequences, whether good or bad accordingly..

I also think you're a good person though, but your torn between supporting someone you like and telling the truth. You need some enlightenment as your write up reeks of pure (African elders) manipulation. No offense sir✌️

    2. 17:28, gold has no value in the eyes of a pig. These are elements whose only claim to humanity is their phenotype. You don't expect them to have any respect for a man like WS.

Theirs is to hail importers who cost their parents the jobs that could have helped their parents afford better education and exposure for them in lieu of the home training that their parents failed to instill.

  7. What is Soyinka famous for? A humanity course littered with those who scored less than 150 in JAMB? Oyibo can market any nonsense to Africa and they will swallow and glorify the nonsense. Soyinka won't be missed because he has no tangible contributions to the society. What did he invent?
