An elder statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, has alleged that the Nyesome Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is behind the plot to impeach Rivers State Governor, Sam Fubara. According to him, Wike’s intention is to force Fubara’s deputy to resign after a successful impeachment and install the Speaker of the state House of Assembly as governor.


The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has assured Nigerians that the ongoing plan by the Federal Government to introduce new foreign exchange rules will reflect the true value of the naira. He also said the plan, which would include a crackdown on illicit currency trading, would result in naira closing its gap with the unofficial rate and reaching a “fair price” before the end of 2023.

 The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the sum of N2,176,791,286,033 for the second 2023 supplementary appropriation. Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, announced this on Monday while briefing State House reporters after the federal cabinet meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

 The Federal Government and a German geo-scientific technology company – GeoScan GmbH, based in Berlin, have signed a pact that will stimulate the exploration of Nigeria’s mineral deposits worth more than $700 billion. Solid Minerals Development Minister Dele Alake, who broke the news, said the agreement is on the exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits in the country.

 Reports emerged on Monday that a total of N21.1bn was spent on the procurement of vehicles for various ministries, departments and agencies within five months. These approvals, contained in a document obtained from the Bureau of Public Procurement, stated that 10 agencies got this disbursement between April and August 2023.

  1. Amen to the plans of FG on breaching the gap for affordable and sustainable exchange rates. It is so bad now.

    The God we serve will not allow BH spread across Nigeria. May he send Angels to smitten them and anyone behind them. This is a typical example of Don’t set trap for another because you might fall into it.

    A large % of the masses are suffering and vehicles worth N2.1b is being delivered to some people. Please I want to ask, will the country also fund the fueling of their cars 😧
