It is, “self-respect or improper and excessive self-esteem known as conceit or arrogance.
Pride can also be biblicaly defined as elevating one`s opinions and thoughts above God`s authoritative Word.
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE PRIDE.
People become proud as a result of too much praise, when you allow it consume you, excessive competition to show your counterparts or colleagues that you are better can lead to pride, when you praise yourself that you are too beautiful, too intelligent etc.
GOD'S STANCE ON PRIDE.
God so much hates pride, emphasis on 'PRIDE' because it was this same sin that caused him to banish satan from heaven and cast him down to earth. So when a child of God allows the spirit of pride to enter, such fellow is reminding God about the devil, and God will not be happy with him or her.
God hates pride so much and there are consequences, if you don't repent from it.
God clearly stated in his holy book what he will do to the proud.
Prov 11-2, prov 29:23 matt 23:12 Zephaniah 3:11 James 4:6
The sin of pride is an abomination to the lord, that is the reason why you should quickly cast it out from you. Because God has said in his word that he will punish you. Prov 16:5
Let me warn you, when God rises up to punish you, nobody can save you, if the devil decides to punish you, God will step in, but when he gets up to punish you, please let me ask you, who can stop him?
It is dangerous to allow pride to take over you, because if can only lead you to hell.
SOLUTION
The only solution is total repentance, acknowledge your mistakes and ask God for mercy, ask for a humble spirit and God will grant your request.
The sin of pride is an abomination in God's sight, remember how he humbled king Nebuchadnezzar in the bible for being boastful and not giving God glory.
Do not end up like him.
Hell is real, repent now that you are alive, not when you die, when your repentance makes no difference.
Jesus loves you.come to Jesus today.
PRAYER
oh lord forgive me for renting a room to the spirit of pride in my heart.
Father circumcise my heart and give me a clean, pure and humble spirit.
Lord i repent from the sin of pride, help me not to be proud nor boastful again, Amen.

*SCRIPTURE*: _For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God._
DEUTERONOMY 4:24.
*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY*: If they are looking for your life, they are dead.
Some years ago, a man took one of the messages I preached to his father's house and began to play it in front of a notable wizard who was killing many people in the family. The title of the message was, They are Dead! It was anchored on the Bible story of the encounter of Joseph with an angel of God when Jesus was a child. The angel came and said to Joseph, "Take the child, and the mother back to the land of Israel for they are dead that seek the life of the child (Matthew 2:20 Paraphrased).
The anchor point of the message was, “They are dead!" So, if they are looking for your life, they are dead. When that message began to play, the wizard began to scream, and said he saw someone with a whip, whipping him. And it was not a normal horsetail whip. The whip was fire; we call that horsetail whip koboko in Nigeria. So, when he said it was whip but in fire form, I called it fire-oko. Thus that wizard encountered the judgment of fire.
Beloved, one of the assignments of the Fire of God is the execution of judgment. That was the fire that "disappeared" Sodom and Gomorrah from history; it is called, judgmental fire. That was the fire that deleted one hundred and two soldiers that came to arrest Prophet Elijah (2 Kings 1:10-12). I believe that was the fire that "roasted" Ananias and Sapphira in Acts of the Apostles 5:1-11.
Today, every force of hell that is resisting the purpose of God for your life is an automatic candidate for the fire of judgment. Every family altar, ancestral curse, witchcraft or occultic conspiracy against your life, family and destiny is sentenced to the fire, in Jesus' Name!

It has been said that a person's worst enemy is the individual who feeds their weaknesses and vulnerabilities. The 2023 election is over. Peter Obi defeated us, not Bola Tinubu. By contesting in an election he knew he could not win, Peter Obi stole away votes that would naturally have come to the Peoples Democratic Party (the Southeast has always voted PDP since 1999. Only 2023 was an exception). That is why we lost.
As a true friend of the Peoples Democratic Party, I told Peter Obi this before the election. I also said the same thing to Waziri Atiku Abubakar. I said if we did not find a way to convince Peter Obi not to run, then we would have to take him on head-on because there was not enough space for both him and Waziri Atiku on the plinth of victory. But that is now history.
The fact of the matter is that the current trajectory of our party is very and eerily similar to the election denial that prevailed in the Republican Party after the 2020 election.
Pinning all our hopes on a smoking gun from Chicago State University that failed to manifest shows that we have reached the end of our ropes.
Let us face the truth. AriseTV and other irresponsible media got our hopes up unnecessarily. Chicago State University never denied Bola Tinubu. That was a big fat lie from Rufai Oseni, @ruffydfire a corrupt journalist sponsored by Peter Obi, a rival of Mr. Tinubu.
A meticulous reading of Mr. Westberg's deposition shows that he affirmed Mr. Tinubu three times as a bonafide graduate they once issued with a diploma certificate.
Under normal circumstances, it would be apparent to us that there is no case here. Chicago State University, through its registrar, Mr. Caleb Westberg, has testified under oath that Bola Tinubu, the male now President of Nigeria, was admitted, attended and graduated from their institution.
They never denied his credentials. What they said, both in their affidavit and the deposition that followed is that they could not attest to the diploma tendered by Bola Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission, not because Bola Tinubu did not graduate from their university, but because a third party vendor issued it, and certificates are more of "a Nigerian thing".
In case members of my party do not know, in November of 2022, this same Mr. Mike Enahoro-Ebah attempted to disqualify Mr. Tinubu on exactly these same grounds, and an FCT Magistrate Court struck out his case without being assigned. And we think the Supreme Court will give credence to what a Magistrate Court dismissed?
What do we now want to prove at the Supreme Court, even in the unlikely event we are allowed to present new evidence? That Bola Tinubu forged a diploma for a degree that he legitimately earned? If not for desperation, why would the great PDP that produced Presidents Obasanjo, Yar'adua and Jonathan even consider clutching at such weak straws? It is like saying a man forged a cheque for an account in his name!
Bola Tinubu's political foes have clutched at this straw before in 1999 and 2003 and failed. And that is what we now want to hold onto in 2023? Twenty years after it failed?
The people behind this desperation are almost all agents of Peter Obi. They don't love Waziri Atiku Abubakar or the PDP. It is a strategy of using Waziri to fight Asiwaju, hoping they cancel each other and that a rerun election is ordered, which Peter Obi will win. They fail to consider that as of today, that is yes daddily impossible.
Waziri Atiku Abubakar would have been a better President than Bola Tinubu. But we were outsmarted by Bola Tinubu. Our redemption will not come from Chicago. It will come from facing reality and ensuring we do not have a divided house in 2027.
I have been more loyal to the PDP than those now trying to make something out of nothing. And if I cannot tell my party the truth, then to borrow the words of Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:19, I am of all men most miserable!

ReplyDeleteThe situation in Osun was completely different from the situation with Bola Tinubu. The man in Osun was not backed up by the school he purported to attend. But Bola Tinubu is backed up by the school he said he graduated from. What Chicago State University, through their registrar, Mr. Caleb Westberg, said under oath is that the person who is currently the President of Nigeria is the same as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who graduated from their institution. The two scenarios are not the same.
Let us face this issue logically and unemotionally. These issues will be adjudicated by a court of law, not the court of public opinion. Sentiments won't help us there.

ReplyDeleteNigerians are very funny people, there's this so called online investment that crashed about two months back. When I was approached to join I refused so the person who approached me asked me to register and he paid the fee, all I did was just to check in daily.
ReplyDeleteYesterday someone modified the WhatsApp group chat and was talking about another another means of investment, in about one hour there was over a thousand messages that I had to mute the group, this morning so many angry voice notes with curses to the owners and admin of the investment platform. I have been laughing since.

ReplyDeleteA scenerio played out this afternoon where my sis and I went to get Plantain. The plantain seller is an advanced Yoruba woman, whose daughter sells food at the same spot.
ReplyDeleteWe got to their shop and my sis asked for the price and the mama said 500. My sis now asked her if she'd sell for 400, na so mama start to roll eyes at her and use her sing.
My sis was like ah ahn mama, you for talk say e no gree na instead of using me to sing like say I be small pikin.
As mama continued singing, na so my sis change am for her begin para. As mama see say my sis don vex, mama started apologising.
Her daughter that should be talking reasonably was telling my sis that she should mind the way she's talking to her mum. I was busy pacifying my sis o until the mumu daughter said that nonsense. Na so both of us face her. We asked her why should her mum be insulting her customers like they came to buy on credit from her? Can't we bargain again? If she doesn't want to sell for the bargained amount, she should have said it nicely.
After putting the dundi daughter in her place, we left their Plantain for them and went to patronize a better vendor. Mtcheew!

He is not really polished in getting his points across, he doesn't sugar coat nothing. He is unique that way.
