ReplyDeleteHmmm. A lady has said that to me. The late daughter of an equally late actress from Otukpo, Benue state. Whatever it was then, she had her demons she was battling with. Demons she wasn't really ready to confront and neither was she ready to share her battles with anyone. Tried as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteI really couldn't take it anymore and I asked to break up. She told me I'll never find anyone like her. Yes indeed. I've never actually met anyone like her since then. But her being 90% good and 10% a monster was perhaps too much of a deal for me. When a woman brings out a knife to stab you and you run into the bathroom and she repeatedly stabs the metallic door of the bathroom with enough force that the knife penetrates... When a woman tells you that she cheats to release tension or just to give herself validation that a man she desires fell for her enough to sleep with her.. that's too much of baggage.
Yes. I may not have found anyone like her since. That's because I wasn't looking for anyone like her.
So my answer to 'You will never find someone like me' will be "Yes. I've had you. This is a road i never hope to walk again.

ReplyDeleteInfact, I will say a resounding amen!!! because it is not good for anyone to end up with a man that makes them feel less and unworthy. No human deserve that. My ex will call me worthless because we didn't have children, and honestly with time, I started seeing myself as worthless too. It continued for the 7 years I was in that marriage until he ended things himself. It was when I got out of that marriage that I understand how marriage should be. I have remarried a man that treat me like a queen, have 3 children, and living a good life!
