    1. It wasn't a wrong time (4:30pm) to be at the bank if you have a transaction going on as customer.
      Rest in peace to them.
      Amen.

    2. Shyla, she didn’t mean the wrong time literally, she meant it figuratively.
Being there when the robbery occurred would be ‘wrong timing’ for anybody, even if it was 10am.

  4. So sad! May the souls of the dead rest in peace. Heartless robbers. They'll rob and still kill. It will never be well with them

  6. What is in otukpo to rob? Really. What is in Otukpo to rob?! Otukpo has no good roads in and out so how do robbers operate for over an hour when there is a Nigerian army barracks less than 15 minutes drive from where these Banks are? You can't drive above 30km/h in otukpo due to the practical non existence of the main highway. So how did the robbers escape?

This is shameful. Our law enforcement agents are only proactive in collecting salaries. Time to do their jobs and they are found wanting.

They had to rob 4 banks? Na to show you how dry that town be. Ordinarily in a town with money, one bank is enough.
Come to think of it, you will never hear that they ever rob Unity bank. Why is that? Na so Unity bank don cast reach? Even robbers dey avoid them? Because in Otukpo there, zenith and unity are practical neighbors and yet the robbers jumped Unity and went to other Banks.

Heartfelt sympathies to those who lost loved ones.

  7. It's my maternal home town, a very peaceful, commercial and hospitable town to strangers. Gosh, I'm so sad. I'm very certain outsiders from the neighbouring boundary to the E, are the mastermind of this act with few indigenes involved. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

    1. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. But please I disagree with you on the fact that some people from the East are behind the robbery.....I have lived in Benue state for 21 years and very conversant with otupko and it's environs.Otupko and cultism is like 5&6.The brutality of these cultist is something else...Even if you leave the town for 100 years and come back they will still kill you,the town just started experiencing peace like 2/3 years ago....bad roads..with little economic growth...

    2. The whole of Benue state is known as a killing ground for the Fulani herdsmen, or are the Fulanis from the East as well? why accuse them?
it's wrong to point to neighbours from Eastern state as the perpetrators of the robberies when your state ve been under siege by the Fulani for years πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

  12. The Governor and all relevant security agencies should do something about the deteriorating state of security in its domain. The news these days from Benue is not cheering at all

  13. The robbers attacked the police station beside the bank first before attacking the banks, a police lady was shot dead. This is the reason why there wasn't any timely response from the police.
