One passenger was killed and several others were injured during the attack by the marauders.
This latest attack is not the first time marauding herdsmen had carried out such gruesome attacks on passengers along the dilapidated road.
Tyolaha village has been a hotspot for persistent attacks by suspected Fulani Herdsmen.
The herdsmen who were almost 15 in number thwarted any resistance by their victims which caused them to disperse on an escape with ease.
Benue Police Public Relations Officer, Anekwe Catherine, confirmed the incident to the Daily Post

ReplyDeleteThis is terribly bad
ReplyDeleteThose Fulani herdsmen should be fished out and dealt with
May the Lord help us all and deliver us from.evil
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking ๐๐๐๐๐
ReplyDeleteSuch wickedness, God have mercy and help us.
ReplyDeleteMay God deliver them from the Evil Herdsmen!!!
ReplyDeleteMay out going out and coming in be always protected by God, Amen
This why I have not travelled since two years ago. Traveling in this country is a great risk. If you don't die by road accident, Fulani herdsmen may kill or kidnap you, armed robbers may kill you, police officer may kill you
ReplyDeletePolice may mistakenly kill you at checkpoint because of #100 bribe
DeleteBokoharam may kill you or kidnap you
Unknown gun men may kill you or kidnap you
Oh dear ๐๐๐

ReplyDeleteAre you a new in the country?
DeleteRIP to the departed souls. Heal our land O Lord
ReplyDeleteHmmm, a lady was kidnapped right in ganaja lokoja this week. The family was told to bring 12m, now the family is running helter skelter to gather the money, even the police advised they look for the money as they also can't help the situation. What a country
ReplyDeleteGod have mercy and avenge the blood of the innocent.
ReplyDeleteA brief description of the location this incident happened.
ReplyDelete1. There is no motorable road from Makurdi to Naka. A trip that should last merely 20 minutes when the road was good, now lasts for over an hour. The road is entirely non existent now. And that road is a very important road serving as a from the East to the northern part of the country. The road is a deathtrap. The Tiv people in Naka are the reason why(see point 5)
2. The road is mostly deserted. You can drive for miles and spot no other vehicle. God help you that your car breaks down.
3. The fulani have operated freely on that road for years. The killings and kidnappings are a practical weekly occurrence. The fulani cross over from
Nasarawa state, come and operate and head back. Not once has any security agency gone after them.
4. The community this attack is said to have happened close to sits not too far from a military check point. All the soldiers do there is be more interested in collecting money from commercial motor vehicles that ply the axis.
5. Yes the road is terribly bad. But when the federal government sent contractors to get the road fixed, the community chiefs and youths in Naka started making outrageous demands for money and settlement that the contractors got fed up and left.
They want to fix your road for the good of your community,u are busy demanding for settlement. Who do Nigerians this thing?
DeleteHey God?! They came to fix your bad road, you are demanding for bribe again? Them don swear for the people of that town
DeleteProbably the bandits settle them from the kidnap ransome or they receive some financial entitlements for the bad roads. Someone is feeding fat off that problem.
Deletethat number 5 is very true, even normal atreet road too
