There was heavy security deployment at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and other flash points and dark spots in Abuja on Tuesday ahead of the delivery of the judgment on the election petitions challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday (today). The tribunal is expected to deliver judgement on the petition filed by the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi and his counterpart, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested some officials of the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency and their accomplices for allegedly diverting palliatives meant for vulnerable citizens. A statement on Tuesday by the DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, stated that the service recovered some of the items after an investigation into the matter.

Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba of the Kano State High Court, on Tuesday, set aside the suspension of a former Governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in the 2023 election, Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso was earlier expelled from the party over “failure to appear before a Disciplinary Committee.”

The Kogi East Senatorial Election Tribunal sitting in Lokoja has sacked Senator Jibrin Isah, (Echocho), the Senate Committee Chairman on Customs Excise and Tariffs. Consequently, the chairman of the Tribunal , Justice K.A. Orjiako, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a supplementary election in 94 polling units in the district.

The Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, on Tuesday, paraded three personnel of a security outfit, Gallantry Intelligence Corps of Nigeria, at the Isolo area of Lagos State. The Commander, NNS Beecroft, Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, while parading the suspects, said they were arrested after receiving reports of their alleged fraudulent activities.
