Words like control should never be used when talking about building harmony in a relationship. Even God does not try to control us, why would a spouse try it. Any action which is a performance and not a natural part of someone’s personality, and this action is being done to elicit a particular response in someone else it is simply manipulation.

Submission does not guarantee domestic harmony just as dominance does not guarantee disharmony. It is for each person to find their true fit in a partner, and stop trying to work their mismatch selves into something. The man who loves a dominant woman will not work well with a submissive one. The woman who is naturally submissive will not work with a man who needs someone who prefers a leader woman.

I think one of the biggest lies ever told to women is this idea that men are simple creatures, as long as they are fed well, sexed well and have clean clothes a woman is set. This oversimplification of who men are and what the needs of men are rob them of their individuality and strip them down to mere specimens and not the complex, multilayered individuals that they are. It also sets up the wives for failure in their marriage, because they get comfortable thinking they don’t have to do too much.

I have noticed most of those shouting about submission are actually the ones who are controlling and abusive. When I heard what this man did to his first wife, I was in shock. I was a huge fan on who wants to be a millionaire show. Now he denies all. Well, since wife no. 2 has not complained to the best of my knowledge, maybe things are better for both of them now, which is good.
