I was pregnant then and the next day I started having contractions, then I lost the baby. Three weeks after I lost the baby, he slapped me while we were in the kitchen, I was going to slap him back but I looked at the knife that was on the counter beside both of us, and then I saw the fiery look in his eyes almost as if he was possessed by something else and my life flashed before my eyes. I immediately walked into one room and shut myself there. I made arrangements and left the house one week later and everyday, I’m glad I made that decision because this was someone I loved with everything in me. And all this violence started after being together for 3 years, before then, he had never hit me.
All this to say, ladies, domestic violence can start at any time in a relationship. Statistics show that It usually happens when a woman is most vulnerable, for example during pregnancy (as was my story). Please if a quarrel happens between you and a man and it is beginning to degenerate into a fight, your first instinct should be to protect yourself and your life. Please leave the environment immediately and make immediate plans to get out of that man’s life. These men are callous and if they take your life, they will still call you a prost*t*te on top, and their fellow men and some women will support them. Meanwhile a person in the grave cannot tell their own side of the story.
