Leon County Judge Frank Allman has sentenced a suspected k#ller Aaron Glee to life imprisonment for the tragic and horrific 2020 m¥rder of two women — community college student and a retired state worker.
He was sentenced on Friday after an extremely emotional morning of statements read aloud by the family of the victims. Salau’s family members fought through tears as they read statements to the judge. My life changed forever that day, and nothing has been the same,” one family member said.
Salau, a Tallahassee community college student who participated in Black Lives Matter protests, went missing just days before Sims, a community volunteer who had worked for several state agencies before retirement, did.
Glee reportedly ti£d Salau up and imprisoned her for several days. He admitted to s£x¥ally a§§aulting her numerous times before deciding to k#ll her. Later, Glee raided Sims’ home and kidn@pped her too.
Police found the women at Glee’s disheveled home after tracing Sims’ phone. Sims’ body was found inside a bedroom under a bl%ody sheet; Salau’s body was found under a pile of leaves in the woods behind his house.
Glee, 52, was set to plead guilty in January but announced he wanted to have a trial. He later pleaded guilty in June to first-degree murder and kidnapping, agreeing to a life behind bars without prosecutors pursuing the d£ath penalty.
Judge Allman sentenced the suspect to two consecutive life sentences for two counts of m¥rder in the first degree. He was also sentenced to another life sentence for one count of kidn@pping, 15 years in prison for one count of s£x¥al batt£ry, and an additional five years for felony batt£ry, court records show.
In June 2020, Salau was found d£ad days after she made tweets revealing she had been m#lested by Glee.
