  1. Some may not like the idea of dating a single mom while some may see it as no big deal. I once dated a single mom with a child of about 7yrs. Though at first, she told me it was her younger brother but the striking resemblance is so strong not to believe it's her son.

It was friends who drew my attention saying, do I know my woman is 'After one'? Even though I had suspected, I gave her the benefits of doubt. So when she came back from work that day, I politely asked her to be truthful to me that it won't change anything about the way I have loved her. It was at that point she started by saying, ''Well, a child is a child and I couldn't have aborted or thrown him away. He's my blood and my son.''

I embraced both her and her son. I took good care of the boy and his schooling. The young boy respected me so much and sees me like a father.

One day, I came back from work and she said to me that her boy said ''if we don't get married, he won't be happy and won't accept any other person''. I asked her if he really said that and she answered yes. I asked again, what was the reason for saying so? She said, he told her he loves me & how I am taking good care of them and all that.

I smiled and wondered how a boy at that age could be talking about marriage.

What did he knows about marriage?

Though our path later came to an end and we both took our separate ways. This is one memory in life I found so difficult to erase from my heart for the so many reasons associated with it.

Few months ago, a friend of mine who later found out his fiancΓ©e he's about to get married to is a single mom, categorically told her never to mention anything about the boy in his presence or bring him any day to his house if she really wants the marriage to go on.

His woman though wasn't happy at that decision, took the little boy to her parents and kept him there while she visits and take care of him by providing his needs.

Eventually, they got married and a year after she conceived and gave birth. After few months of nursing the new born, my friend told his wife that it's now time to go and bring the young boy into their family. The wife couldn't held back the joy of hearing that.

Apparently, my friend wanted his own child first before taking care of another man's child. His choice and I respected that and have no issues with it when he finally told me it was his reason.

So currently, he's taking care of both boys and like he said to me, he told the wife on no account should there be preferential treatment on them. That both of them are now his kids and will be treated nicely and equally.

Finally, in all I had written so far, this is my candid advice to men who have chosen to date a single mom. Please see and treat her child like your own. A mother will never throw her child away cos she met you.

Every child need a father. It's no fault of theirs not to have the presence of one in their life at the moment. Remember, you weren't forced to love or date a single mom. So why try to separate them????

If she's sweet and good for you, why disassociate yourself from her offspring?

When that child eventually grow up, he or she will never forget who fathered them and how you treated them. They will surely know the story and what really happened.

  4. There are many different times of prayer. Among all of them, midnight prayers effectively handle all forms of issues that can affect you as a believer. No matter what you are going through in life, it is essential to take some time to do effective midnight prayers over that issue and seek God’s breakthrough
The power of midnight prayers can never be overemphasized. The midnight hour is a very sensitive time to pray. It is a time when you can take charge of situations and circumstances. At this time, when everyone else is asleep, find time to speak to God.
    Off to vigil.
    GOOD NIGHT MY SDK FAMILY.

    3. The Bible didn’t put anytime for prayer
      Pray whenever you want
Someone prayed at midnight and goes round preaching same to others

      Delete
    4. I don't joke with midnight prayers o,e get why?

      Delete
    5. Is this biblical? Are you making traditions of men truth of God? Prayer is a form of communication and God wants us to communicate with him anytime day , midnight activities was primarily for unbelievers which has been brought into Christianity, stop making it look like it’s Gods way, it’s not

      Delete
    6. We should be having church services at midnight then.

My God is same at all time of the day and able to hear and help me whenever I call on his holy name.

      Delete
    7. My God created time BUT He is not limited by time. He answers prayer of faith offered anytime of the day. It is to each and everyone of us according to our faith.
If you believe that your midnight prayer will be effective, then pray it with faith and you will receive answers. If you believe that your day prayer will be effective, then go ahead and pray it with faith, you will be answered.
Without FAITH it is impossible to please God, not the TIME of the prayer pleases God.

There is also the idea of Importunity prayer - constant and insistent demand in the place of prayer. If you have an issue stealing your sleep and joy, engage in this type of prayer. It is based on the scriptural verses of the wicked judge and the poor woman coming to him for justice (read it up).
You embark on this prayer in watches i.e 6am, 9pm, 12am, 3am, 6am, 9am, 12pm. It is either you receive speedy answers or the prayers changes you to align with the Will of God .

  11. Raining here since this afternoon. The weather is so cold and at a time like this, I miss my home and bed. Sleeping on a double padded cartons in one of the rooms at the site for the past one week is disturbing. I hardly sleep cos I feel so uncomfortable. The tiles are even too cold to sleep on but I'm used to this lifestyle when works calls.

    1. Don't entertain fear, what you are scared of will come to pass.
Start making declarations of faith, what you expect in faith will come to pass. Read these: Psalms 23, Phil. 4:19, 2nd Cor. 9:8, 2nd Cor. 8:9.
      Say after me:

My God has supplied all my NEED according to His riches in glory.
He has supplied the N500,000 I need to pay my children's school fees, books, clothes and food.
He has made all grace, every favour and earthly blessings abound towards me, so that in all situations, I have everything I need.
The works of my hand is blessed and multiplied.

Let this confession be your companion morning, noon and night. Each time that fearful thought come up, counter it with the confession of faith. You will testify.
