  1. One of my former colleague/friend, passed a few days ago. Yesterday, his family used his Facebook page to announce his death.
Something about the announcement struck me. They said, "Please, if our brother has offended you knowingly or unknowingly, kindly forgive him. And if he is owing you money, kindly reach out to us to settle it". I haven't seen this before.
May the soul of the departed, fine rest.

This sounds like what my family can do if one of my cousins dies. The guy has committed so much atrocities and refuses to listen to warnings. Defrauding people of their money in the guise of investment, parading himself as a single man and promising ladies marriage while borrowing large sums of money from them, then he dumps them. Too many to mention.

    8. Jazmine: Naah. Shafi'i was a Great guy. It's just one of the norms of many northern Muslims, where they want to make sure they clear off anything so that deceased can rest well, without anyone holding anything against them. It's why they also asked for forgiveness...it is well!

**One of my former colleagues /friends

We use plural because he is one of many.

Or you can say a former colleague /friend

But when used with 'one of'.. It becomes plural

      Delete
    12. Ali it is not one of the norms of a northern muslim, it is part of the religion, any muslim from anywhere, when they die, their family is supposed to settle their debt even before they are buried, so it is islamic law not norm.

  2. Live As One Who Has Eternal Life!!
    1 John 5:13 NIV.

    Excerpts!!

"Not many Christians know they have eternal life. So, they pray for it, some fast for it, and others hope to receive it. Some others even think they can only enjoy this God-life in heaven, no!"

"Eternal life isn’t a mere promise or a future expectation. When you were born again, eternal life was imparted to your human spirit, and at once, you were awakened to the Fatherhood of God. Eternal life is the God-life; it’s the transcendent life. It’s indomitable and uninfectable."

"When troubles strike, deal with them from the perspective of your knowledge of who you are and what you have in Christ. You live in the realm of incorruptibility, immortality, everlasting joy, peace, and glory; reigning and ruling over Satan, his demons and the elements of this world."

    Prayer!!

I walk and function in the consciousness that my Spirit has been imparted with eternal life - the God - type of life! Therefore, I live in the realm of incorruptibility, immortality, everlasting joy, peace and glory; reigning and ruling over Satan, his demons and the elements of this world. Amen.

  3. HANDLING TEMPTATION (2)

'Lead us not into temptation...deliver us from the evil one.' Matthew 6:13 NIV

In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus taught us to pray, 'Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one' (Matthew 6:13 NIV).

Understand this: Satan is always trying to lead you into temptation, whereas the Holy Spirit who lives within you is always trying to deliver you from temptation. It is informative that while the devil is named the tempter, he is also named the accuser. 'For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down' (Revelation 12:10 NIV). There is no such thing as fair play with the devil. As soon as he gets you to give in to temptation, he will switch hats and try to convince you that because you have yielded to it, you're beyond God's grace and redemption. But Satan is a liar, and there is no truth in him.

It's only when you deny your sin and reject God's mercy that you're beyond redemption. The Bible says: 'If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:8-9 NIV). Some people are delivered from temptation instantly; others battle it for a long time before finding deliverance and victory. It's never a matter of God's unwillingness to extend grace to us but of our inability to receive it. So whether you come the easy way or the hard way, as long as your desire is to come to God, 'He will also provide a way out' (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV).

Permit me to drop three favorites quote of late Thomas Sankara I so much love and today, we have seen Ibrahim Traore step in his shoes.

1.You cannot carry out fundamental change without a certain amount of madness. ...

2.It took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity today. ...

3.Let there be an end to the arrogance of the big powers who miss no opportunity to put the rights of the people in question.

  12. Reno Omokri speaks on the Nigerian economy again

There is no hope for the Naira until we control our economy. And when you have a South African firm like MTN controlling 17% of Niger's stock market, and an Indian firm like Airtel controlling dominating another 13%, we are not in control of our economy. Because these guys will make money from Nigeria and repatriate it to India and South Africa. Billions of dollars. MTN is the largest company on our stock exchange, followed by Airtel. And both countries will NEVER tolerate a Nigerian company having that sort of control over their economy the way we tolerate them.

Now, is there any money flowing into Nigeria from South Africa and India? A little. But nowhere near what is flowing to those countries from Nigeria. That is why the Naira is losing value. It is suffering from economic anaemia.

If you want the Naira to rise, remove your MTN and Airtel SIM cards and replace them with Glo. That is the secret of Jewish wealth. Jews will NEVER go outside their community for goods and services that other Jews can provide. Even if the outsider's goods or services are better or cheaper.

But we do not have that patriotism or discipline. We can open our mouths and condemn our own. Glo is this. Innoson is that. Air Peace is useless. Then after destroying our own brands and spending our money on foreigners, we expect our government to do magic and make $1 equal to ₦1. Just read the comments below, and you will marvel at the negativity of Nigerians who say they want positivity.

  14. A blind man walks into a restaurant and sits down. The waiter, who is also the owner, walks up to the blind man and hands him a menu. "I'm sorry sir, but I am blind, and can't read the menu. Just bring me a dirty fork from a previous customer, I'll smell it and order from there. " A little confused, the owner walks over to the dirty dish pile and picks up a greasy fork. He returns to the blind man's table and hands it to him. The blind man puts the fork to his nose and takes in a deep breath. "Ah, yes that's what I'll have, meatloaf and mashed potatoes. " Unbelievable, the owner says to himself as he walks towards the kitchen. The cook happens to be the owner's wife and he tells her what had just happened. The blind man eats his meal and leaves. Several days later the blind man returns and the owner mistakingly brings him a menu again. "Sir, remember me? I'm the blind man. "I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you. I'll go get you a dirty fork. " The owner again retrieves a dirty fork and brings it to the blind man. After another deep breath, the blind man says, "That smells great, I'll take the Macaroni and cheese with broccoli. Once again walking away in disbelief, the owner thinks the blind man is screwing around with him and tells his wife that the next time the blind man comes in he's going to test him. The blind man eats and leaves. He returns the following week, but this time the owner sees him coming and runs to the kitchen. He tells his wife, "Mary rub this fork on your panties before I take it to the blind man. " Mary complies and hands her husband the fork back. As the blind man walks in and sits down, the owner is ready and waiting. "Good afternoon sir, this time I remembered you and I already have the fork ready for you. " The blind man puts the fork to his nose, takes a deep whiff and says, "Hey I didn't know that Mary worked here? "

Please those 9f us that have this irritating white patches (I don't know what else to call it) on the face, biko try and use a hand grove bath sponge, it might go a long way. That thing is irritating na, no, it's not a skin problem. Dump that normal sponge and use the hand grove sponge with a nice cream and you will see improvement

There are good cheap creams in the market. I was using those cream in tiny bottles they sell for #150 back home. I buy them and pour in a bigger can mixed with oil. That sponge is not expensive and it's also underated.
Those white things below the nose forming clogs and pimples where there's none on the face is irritating na.

You can carry out a practical to know if what I'm saying is true. Get the long normal sponge and the grove. Use them on different days and use a white cloth or towel to wipe. I'm sorry for typing this long episode, someone just lost a relationship because of poor hygiene and I don't care attitude. Some people just don't want to take corrections, they know it all

  23. It seems many people like saying, 'instalmentally'.

During naira crush period, I went to a POS operator in my neighbourhood to get some money.

Dude asked ME to transfer 20k to get 10k.

"10k as a transaction fee?" I asked with open-mouthed incredulity.

NB: Incredulity means disbelief or being unable to believe something.

    "Yes", he replied.

"Even the 10k, I'll give you instalmentally. I don't have enough cash here."

    I said:

"I'm complaining of the high transaction fee and you're talking of paying ME by instalments."

"Na so I see am o!" He exclaimed in Pidgin. "Banks no gree give us enough cash. I'll give the 10k instalmentally, now and in the evening." He concluded.
    ..........

    Hey family!❤️

The word 'instalmentally' is one of those #GrammarLiesYourTeachersToldYou

    'Instalmentally' doesn't exist.

    Google it now.

You won’t find 'instalmentally' in any credible and reputable dictionary.

The correct thing to say isπŸ‘‡
    in instalments
    or
    by instalments.

    For example πŸ‘‡

    1. Mr Shola has agreed to pay for the car in instalments.

    2. Akan said I could pay for the Redmi 12C phone by monthly instalments.

    3. The contract was that you'll pay for the land by/in instalments.

'Instalment' is BrE. It's spelt with double 'll' in AmE, that is, 'installment'.

Please stop saying, "I'll pay for the commodity INSTALMENTALLY".

    That's not standard English.

    Got any value reading this?

    I'm rooting for you! πŸ’ͺ
