President Bidens Asks To Meet President Tinubu At UNGA 2023

“President Joe Biden is asking to meet with you on the sidelines of UNGA, and you are the only African leader he has requested to meet. It is a mark of his high regard for your leadership,”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted an invitation to meet with the United States President, Joe Biden, on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly meeting..
Aguri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement after a meeting between Tinubu and US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ambassador Molly Phee.

Tinubu reiterated that under his leadership, Nigeria will create an enabling environment for private businesses.
He urged the US government to be innovative by creating incentives for its investment in Nigeria.

“Yes, the private sector will lead the way within an enabling environment we create for them. However, the U.S. Government must be innovative and systematically create incentives for U.S. industrial investment in Nigeria. Under my leadership, Nigeria stands ready to address its specific regulatory, tax and environmental concerns. I am determined to create prosperity for all Nigerian families,” he said.

On his part, Phee said the US government is committed to improving incentives for its large-scale investment in Nigeria.
“President Joe Biden is asking to meet with you on the sidelines of UNGA, and you are the only African leader he has requested to meet. It is a mark of his high regard for your leadership,” Phee added.
UNGA 78th session will open on September 12 2023, in New York, United States.

  1. Tj, the international community that is watching, come and see their oga kpata kpata requesting a meeting with Tinubu. What does that tell you?
They care more about their interest than our development.

    2. They have the results and know Tinubu won hands down. They have his good track record in Lagos and know he is the best option for today's Nigeria. It's the reason they are opening another embassy in the eko Atlantic he thought up. They will rather face reality instead of being deceived by the tears of those obtaining discounted dollars to import digestive biscuits and sell at market rate, being the biggest recipients of subsidy.

Tinubu ran Lagos, the most populous state, without any federal allocation for 6 years. He created enough wealth for every one who wants to be anyone in Anambra to opt to and continue to move there to live and do business.

What Nigerian economic space needs are the right policies and transparency which will level the field. In a few months, Tinubu has done very well in that regard and FDI is rushing in, creating high income jobs and benefitting quality manufacturing and agriculture. Ask those in the banking and investment sectors who see the numbers in real time.

Getting into government with subsidy gone has given another opportunity for those who just don't want to nag about the price of necessary change but see opportunity. Gas is a third of the cost of PMS, is readily available and will directly benefit local communities because of its manner of storage and logistics in addition to the fact that it is gentler on engines and cleaner. Having a master plan on gas and a dedicated ministry is a master stroke.

It may take time and will take pains but Nigeria is on the right path if the government focuses on the math rather than capitulate to the chronic complaining of those who think a good president will be one who will make dollar equal to the naira so that they can make marginal arbitrage on predatory importation without asking why China, the worlds greatest exporter, continues to weaken its own currency.

  2. Because he is doing their bidding in this Niger crises.

Whenever people call on the International Community, I raise my leg and laugh.

    1. True, i was shocked to my bone marrow when Chimamanda wrote a letter to Biden. Like, for real?? She wanted Biden to side with her against the Nigerian state? Their cash cow? What has Chimamanda got to offer them that they really need and lack? They would not spoil their relationship wt Naija, no matter what. I’m surprised she didn’t know this about them, despite living with them for ages.
