God bless every child providing for their parent. It's fufiling and I'm praying to God to show mercy so I peesonally can boast of this kind of thing. Cos my siblings are doing their own, e remain me o.
We are planning something big for my moms 70th in the next 5yrs.
She already got a comfortable home and car. She's our only surviving parent.
We owe her a family reunion and a big party, where every of her children and grandchildren will gather under the same roof, she wishes so much for this to happen.
We shall pull it off, and many more by God's grace

  14. While it’s a good thing to do things like buying homes or cars for parents living in poverty, I think the upside down culture induced by poverty has contributed to societal ills like side chickism, Runz, gigolos, rituals etc! Just to be seen to have made it by them and by Naija society!

Please read my comment slowly and comprehend before responding to it. Most of these young folks who buy these homes, cars for parents are from poor homes and many of their moms don’t care if they “sell their bodies” do Runz, follow sugar daddies,or do ritual so they can “eat the fruit of their labor”. I know it’s now part of the culture BUT children ARE not SUPPOSED to worry about able bodied parents!!!!We are reversing the order of nature turning it to a culture! It’s poverty! Many buy their kids first cars! I don’t expect my children to buy me a car or house and I didn’t buy for my parents or parents in law as well! Life is stressful enough for this role reversal! Some drop out of school and start caring for siblings manufactured for them by their parents, it’s wrong. It’s the reason 11 million kids are out of school in Nigeria yet Kano wants to sponsor mass weddings with tax money to birth kids who live & work like adults in misery & poverty due to 30 mins pleasure by their parents.

Does DJ Cuppy or Elumelu kids or even Mr & Mrs Middle class XY wait for a car or home from their children? Kano state is about to spend N800m on mass weddings that will breed more abjectly poor kids, perpetuating this nonsense poverty culture of buying what the goverment should provide as safety nets for poor families!

Pls don’t get me wrong every kid gifts their parents birthday, Mother’s Day, Christmas, or even pedicure, spa gifts etc but I can deduce that many from disadvantaged backgrounds enter “red-flagged marriages”, marry older grandpas they don’t really love or wicked guys to alleviate the abject poverty of their parents, some doing unthinkable things to “make their moms or parents happy”! If you love your children you won’t burden them or birth too many knowing you don’t even own a home or car!

Don’t birth more kids than YOU can conveniently care for, some westerners don’t even have kids because they are waiting till they have all these things that will make their kids lives easier, but the poor old woman is rolling on the ground in appreciation, not worrying about whatever the girl went through. The end justifies any means! We wonder why the country is why it’s like it is. It starts from the micro level. If all you can afford is one kid, please don’t have 4! It’s upside down to reverse these roles as Africans have done. You should care for your parents when they are old for sure, many even use the parents cards to help them buy grocery or pay utility etc or help them get repair men to fix their homes or hire caregivers but let’s normalize having few kids we can give a decent life to.. Ignore if you don’t get my point. I have never in almost 30 years seen this in the west unless it’s a millionaire musician or sports star, very successful $billionaire entrepreneur or lottery winner with outrageous money! Even Oprah’s dad was content as a barber in the same barbing salon for decades until he passed away!

  15. I congratulate🎊 the woman and it’s good to make your parents happy but it does not have to be material things I don’t know the details of how they got it. I am happy once they do well, marry kind spouses and are living in comfort, health and godliness! Let’s normalize contentment and non-transactional relationships that help perpetuate the “get rich at all costs mentality & culture”
