  4. GOD HAS NOT FORSAKEN YOU

'You will deny me three times.' Luke 22:61 NKJV

The Bible says, 'Peter remembered the word of the Lord..."Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times." So Peter went out and wept bitterly' (Luke 22:61-62 NKJV). What is it that saves us? Our good works? No, it's our faith in Christ. 'By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast' (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV). Now you understand the words of Christ to Peter: 'I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail' (Luke 22:32 NKJV). When you have faith in Christ, you can bounce back.

When it comes to God's grace, there is no statute of limitations. Peter denied Jesus not once but repeatedly. Perhaps that's your story too! This wasn't a moment that Peter would be proud of but an experience he would grow stronger as a result of. When someone fails badly, we may say that they 'crash and burn'. And when something is burned, all that's left is ashes. But we serve a God of restoration who gives 'beauty for ashes' (see Isaiah 61:3). If you had seen Peter swearing that he didn't know the Lord, would you have picked him to be your church leader? God did. He made him the head of the New Testament church.

We tell people, 'Don't get into messes' and 'Don't sin'. And that's good advice - God doesn't want us sinning. But we should really say, 'Don't walk headfirst into sin when you know better. But when you fail, as you surely will, turn to God and he will restore you and use your failure to strengthen you.'

  5. Made Whole And Delivered From Pitfalls!!
    Psalm 107:20.

    Excerpts!!

"The Hebrew word translated healed is “raphah”; it means to mend, to cure, to heal, repair, or thoroughly make whole. This is what the Word does in your life; it rids you of all kinds of sicknesses, diseases, and infirmities; it has curative ability."

"Secondly, the word translated “destructions” in the same opening verse is the Hebrew, “shechiyth”; it means pitfalls. Pitfalls are sudden, unforeseen troubles. So, a pitfall could be a sudden loss of money or even the loss of a job, life savings, assets, properties etc., as a result of a particular course of action or policies."

"But thanks be unto God! He’s able to deliver from pitfalls, from sudden unforeseen difficulty, calamity or quagmire."

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, I'm confident in the ability of your Word to deliver me from pitfalls, to cause health, wholeness and strength to well up in my body, and to make me walk in unending prosperity. Through the Word, I'm guided to navigate life triumphantly. I'm like a tree by the streams, bearing fruits unto righteousness, never failing, but always victorious, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  13. THE MILKMAID AND HER PAIL

Once a milkmaid was walking down the village path, carrying a pail of milk on her head. She was going from her farm to the village to sell this milk. As she walked down the path, she began to daydream.

“I will sell this pail of milk in the village. With the money I get, I should be able to buy at least three hundred eggs.

Of these three hundred eggs, at least two hundred will hatch into chickens. I will sell a hundred and fifty of these chickens in the market when the time is right. The remaining fifty will remain on my farm and grow up to lay more eggs.

With all this money I can buy a beautiful, new gown. I will wear this gown and go to the Christmas balls. All the young women will be so envious and all the young men would want to dance with me.

But I will not be so easy. I will toss my head and say no to everyone, until the Prince himself asks to dance with me.”

So saying, she tossed her head. Down fell the pail and out spilt all the milk.

Moral: Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.

Boma bought a WEAVE for a new hairstyle. ✅

    Why? πŸ‘‡

    Boma bought a weave-on for a new hairstyle. ❎
Boma bought a weave for a new hairstyle. ✅

I checked some online dictionaries just now. There's no word like a WEAVE-ON or WEAVEON in Standard English.

You can google it yourself; you won't find weave-on in any credible and reputable dictionary.

As far as human hair is concerned, the correct word to use is: a WEAVE, not weave-on.

And this is what it means πŸ‘‡

Weave: This is a piece of hair that is added to a person's own hair in order to make the hair thicker or longer.
    -Cambridge dictionary

    For example πŸ‘‡
The actress always liked to wear heavy makeup and a weave.

A weave is a piece of hair that is added to a person's own hair to make it look longer or thicker.
    -Collins dictionary

    For example πŸ‘‡
Mary had an ill-fitting, red wavy hair and may have been wearing a weave.

Weave is synonymous with hairpiece, wig, extension.

    They're briefly explained below.

HAIRPIECE: A piece of false hair that you wear on your head to make your own hair look thicker, bigger or richer.

    For example πŸ‘‡
Unfortunately the hairpiece didn't quite match the colour of Boma's hair.

WIG: A covering of false hair that you wear on your head, for example, because you have little hair of your own or because you want to cover up your own hair.

EXTENSION: Pieces of artificial hair that are added to somebody's own hair to make it longer.
    ..........

I tend to be very good at paying attention to my personal belongings. However, if I lose my phone, I won't panic. My life is an open book. Transparency is my watchword. My email and social media profiles have been hacked multiple times, and I am still standing. No can of worms found. There is no nothing embarrassing on my phone. Everything I write, I can say publicly, and have actually done so on repeatedly.

Christ was controversial, and the Pharisees were accepted, so controversy does not faze me. My bank apps cannot be broken into because of facial recognition technology. And even if they broken into, I have deposit insurance. My identity documents are backed up in the cloud and can be recovered from any Apple device.

It is when you have skeletons in your cupboard that you start to panic and almost cry when your phone is lost. If not, it is not a big deal. A leader must have command presence. Even if you must panic internally, leadership demands that you hide your panic from others to inspire public confidence. Internalise it. If the general is panicking, it means the battle is lost!

Looking for a mandate that was not stolen from you.

Looking for a phone that was not pilfered from you.

Looking for a religious war that was not declared on you.

    Nigeria really dodged a bullet!

  45. Atiku Abubakar speaks on the Nigerien coup

The military intervention in the Republic of Niger has created tension across the West Africa sub-region, and it is a development that has caused international attention to that neighbouring country of ours.

The putsch is even more worrisome because the number of states that have witnessed military intervention in the last three years in the subregion is increasing.

Of course, the world expects Nigeria to take up leadership in ensuring that the crisis of political leadership in the Republic of Niger is not just curtailed but also ensuring the restoration of democratic governance in that country.

While the expectations that fall on Nigeria as the sub-regional leader is not a quick fix, it must be expressed that the role taken so far by the Economic Community of West African States has been commendable.

As the ECOWAS continues to work towards reinstating democracy in the Republic of Niger, it must be reinforced that the regional body should not travel the road of military hostilities that may exacerbate the status quo.

The crisis in the Republic of Niger requires diplomatic engagements, and that must mean that the channels for dialogue should be well sustained.

While the world expects Nigeria to take a leading role in this process of peaceful conflict resolution, it must be clear to the military insurrectionists in the Republic of Niger that the world cannot afford to wait for too long before this crisis is resolved reasonably.

This is undoubtedly a challenging time for the West African region. However, any actions taken towards the prompt resolution of the crisis in the Republic of Niger must prioritize democracy as the ultimate victor. -AA

  49. FFK not pleased with coups happening in the West African region

Today Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan all have military Governments. They also constitute a formidable phalanx of unelected military dictators and mutinous soldiers who came to power by the barrel of the gun right on our northern border. This gives cause for concern. The map speaks for itself, the situation is dangerous and disturbing and, as Nigerians, we must do all in our power to preserve and protect our democracy and ward off the influence of those that seek to encircle and destroy us and pull it down. The position that our President and current Chairman of ECOWAS, President Bola Tinubu, has taken on events in Niger Republic is bold and inspiring. There is no price that is too high to pay for the preservation of democracy in our country and our sub-region. It is time for us to return to the days of ECOMOG when the whole of the African continent appreciated and witnessed the might and power of our military and our great nation. It is time for us to be recognised for who and what we are: the strength, pride, dignity and power of the black man and the custodian and primary defender of freedom and our noble African heritage and values on the continent.
