Please guys, what can I introduce to my 4 months plus baby? He has been strictly on formula (Aptamil) because I didn't lactate after I gave birth. To be honest, the formula is good for him because he looks very chubby and healthy but the cost is killing me. The boy finishes a container of Aptamil in less than 1 week. Sometimes 5-6 days because he has a great appetite. I want to change to something less expensive but that will still be good for him. Can I also start introducing him to something other than formula now?

DeleteAnon if your baby is not breastfeeding, that's the normal time for him to finish aptamil na. Abi is it not that big aptamil of about 10k? Any other cheaper formula you are going to get will be almost the same price range. Say for instance Nan is 3700, he'll finish 1 in about 3, 4 days. You'll get another one. It's almost same spending with the Aptamil.
DeleteFor me, I started giving my son fruit purees and pap from 4mths o. But you will still add the formula. So everything is still money.
And I don't like changing formula because of constipation or diarrhea. You can try Nan sha. It's a nice formula.
@ Fidel, it is the one but it costs 15,500 now. I don't mind introducing him to the Pap and puree now but the pap recipe and procedure that someone gave me is just something I don't think I can do. Please if you have a simpler procedure for Pap please let me know.

DeleteMy sister in-law makes my pap cos you can't be buying pap for a baby like that. Plus it's even cheaper when you prepare it yourself. Idk, maybe you can get someone that you trust to make for you, add some extra cash. Make pap with yellow corn, depending on how well he takes it, the next one you can now mix with guinea corn. It's not very easy, just try hear?
If you can, don't stop the Aptamil. It's a very nice formula like you said. From 6mths you can now add soya bean flour to the pap and maybe reduce the qty of aptamil you're adding to your pap. You will be giving your baby other finger foods. The Aptamil will be lasting longer. Economy just hard jor.

DeleteUse pumice a.k.a stone (get from Mamas that sell sponge, safety pins e.t.c), add coconut oil to soften your feet in the water and then use foot file.
DeleteOnce you are done scrubbing, finish off with shea butter or coconut oil. Purchase a full manicure and pedicure set.
I use foot scrub, and then use a pumice stone. When i'm done with this, i soak my feet in diluted vinegar for about 5mins. Use baby oil, or olive oil on my soles, and wear socks.

If your face is made up, use it on your neck, cleavage and other body parts.
