Entrepreneur Farida Sobowale Begs Her Children And Well Wishers Over Suicide Attempt

Farida Sobowale who was rescued from Jumping into the Lagos lagoon at Third Mainland Bridge has begged her children and fans for letting them down by attempting to commit suicide.

She said " I felt frustrated after my husband walked out on me after only four weeks of marriage which cost me N100million. friends and family warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant
I aso sorry for putting my children in such a position and would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide.”

But suicide is a fo.olish,s.tupid and c.oward route.
Nothing and no one is worth taking your life for.

Moreover, there is nothing new under the sun

    1. So she was going to abandon her children in tbis cold, cruel world just because a man disspointed her? Very wicked and cowardly thing to even consider. Why will you spend 100 million to marry a man? Isn't it supposed to be the man marrying the woman? That's what you get for trying to buy a man despite all the red flags. I feel no iota of pity for her. She should just pull herself together for the sake of her children.

    2. Why can't women with children just focus on their children! I am almost 50! I have never been married, no children and I enjoy my own company!!! When you have the Holy Ghost! You are full of joy always!!! A matured woman like this , with her own money and children! Why not just focus on God and your children!

    5. Anon 18:42 God bless you. We need people to speak up against this cultural menace of age shaming women who are unmarried by a certain age or who don’t have children after a certain number of years of marriage! It’s not right. I love many aspects of African culture but this one cuts across many ethnicities & it’s backward.

Prof Condoleezza Rice was a former US Secretary of State. Never married, no children & very fulfilled. Oprah Winfrey rejected Stedman Graham’s proposal and refused to marry. She had the option. With 65,000 kids that Oprah has put though college, point out ANY mother that is more fulfilled than MummyOprah as the ladies call her! She is fulfilling purpose!

Young ladies, find your purpose & passion and fulfill it. If it happens fine, embrace it and enjoy it but don’t settle for less just to marry! S*x isn’t food as SM will have us believe.

    6. It doesnt make sense spending such money on a wedding to a man that is a serial husband! The wedding was talk of town among their peers and i guess the shame of him leaving after 4 weeks was a shame for her. My one cent not that it matters though! Madam get yourself together as nothing is big deal these days and you wouldnt be the first nor the last that such thing would happen to. Pick yourself up, learn from it and move on with yourself, children and your business

    7. My dear @ 21:26! Amen and you too!!! I guess is my leaving the shores of Nigeria early to explore the world! I have lived across continents! I am currently in Nigeria 🇳🇬.
An elderly woman that kept marriage shaming me,her daughter just died inside yeye marriage!!! The way the world is going, you must love yourself deeply before anyone! As the Bible says love your neighbour as yourself.
Is for both men and women! No one completes you! You complete yourself.
Have your investments and trust God to guide you always in all your endeavours! That's all!!! We don't need to prove anything to anybody in this life.

No human is worth crying and killing yourself over. Thank God she is fine now.

Sometimes people experience a challenge and instantly think they are at the end of the road, which is not true.
People need to know this; As long as you are alive, your chapter isn't closed and your story isn't over. Keep moving.

She can still get married in the future to a better man and he would be the one to fund it.

    3. We have covered that spirit of desperation countless times on this blog. It doesn’t matter who she is or what she has, if she allow that spirit of desperation to soak into her she will scrape the bottom of the barrel just to say she has someone.

Nothing good comes out of desperation. Look where it took her, what if she had died. Imagine a whole 100 million naira wedding extravaganza could not keep the man with her for a month, not even her money, access to opportunities and influential people kept him there - this tells me that she likely was the driving force behind the entire relationship from courtship to wedding.

I wish her all the best on her journey to healing. And I hope she realizes that her worth and value is not dependent on having a man in her life. Her brothers, uncles and her own father can be a father figure to her children if that is what she is seeking.

    4. Someone who is in her 50s? Her children should be adults or at the very least teenagers. What are they using father figure for now that their grandfather, uncles could not do? Someone who will come into their life and they will barely see because if work.
What a pity. Truly, if you dont marry someone who will raise your standards omo, you will marry complete trash.

  15. If not that you were trying to pepper imaginary enemies, why would you spend 100M naira on your wedding at this age and stage in your life, when you still have children depending on you and a business to run?
Obviously, the money was a lot to you for you to factor it into your reasons for wanting to commit suicide.
Thank God you didn’t succeed oh, God has plans for you. Leave the man to his destiny and face your front.
Trust in God and He will bring you a decent man who will love and take care of you.

    1. This case is a celebrated one as such if there is a legal punishment for such activity then the law should be applied in order to serve as deterrent to others.
    2. I do advice ladies, especially those who are late 30s and above but still single/ divorced /widowed etc. Please don't marry a ma because he is a socialite, rich, handsome etc.Marry him because he is cerebral, focused, gentle etc. He can even be your opposite socially. Like I advice a popular socialite who was single then, that she should find a guy doing his phd or completed it, that she won't regret it. She laughed but later thank me for it. There are a lot of online drama and marital break down but this are the only group of individual that you don't attach drama with.

  29. A highly irresponsible list of decisions by this woman. She was ill for a long time and I can only imagine the agony her young children went through at the time only to pull this stunt over an ex-convict who was canned for fraud. What kind of father figure would an unemployed and impoverished homeless fraudster be to these children?

The height of manipulation, recklessness and irresponsibility of these jokers is repulsive. Her children need better parenting. She is a stressor to them. The people with this particular personality disorder which I choose not to name can really be a nightmare especially when they find each other.
